This? THIS is the ONE time he doesn't want his face everywhere and on everything? The other G's got a gift.

Derek Hawkins @wrytersblockdh.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

Or, as I put it last week: "The point behind AI is to make us all dumber, stupider, and gullible. If you don't question what you're told, you'll buy whatever product is pushed at you by the algorithms. And who is controlling the algorithms?"

I was going 'poor' as in financially. The millionaire, his wife, and maaaayybe the movie star weren't "poor".

Okay, I am only used to seeing Lee Marvin older. I knew the face looked familiar.

Derek Hawkins @wrytersblockdh.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

Never heard of it. Way before my time.

You mean everyone but Thurston and Lovey (and maaayyybe Ginger) right? 😉

Derek Hawkins @wrytersblockdh.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

I got part 1 of Season 1 on DVD a number of years back. Never found the restt though.

I probably JUST missed out on seeing and remembering this when it originally aired, but I remember watching lots of reruns growing up.

Yep. I bet. The nearest nurse was probably in Australia! 🤣

The whole point of a Developmental Edit, whether you're an experienced author or not, whether you're a plotter or pantster, is to make the book look cohesive and like you planned it that way all along. Most foreshadowing is done in edits. #LianaEdits #Books #AmWriting www.LianaEdits.com?u...

*gets out the whiteboards and dry-erase markers* How much time have you got? This will take awhile!

Derek Hawkins @wrytersblockdh.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

And breakfast before I left the next morning. The complementary continental breakfast is out and open by 5-6am, right?

Depending on traffic and where in the ATL she landed, it's only an 8-9hr drive.

100

Derek Hawkins @wrytersblockdh.bsky.social · 29/09/2026

The ATL puts us 3-4 hrs closer than SC did. A 1hr time difference is easier to track than 14-15 (which varies through the year)

Can all these AI Pimps crash and burn their businesses to the ground already? Anything pushing AI is an entire category of ads on youtube that I want to block p permanently.

Best day though is when the Cryboys lose TO the Saints. 😁

010

Derek Hawkins @wrytersblockdh.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

Saints lost today, but so did the Cryboys. And they have loooong flight home from Rio to think about it. I call this day a wash.

My great-grandmother had Blue for 26 years. Blue was a 1967 Oldsmobile Delta 88. Ir was a boat, and in 93 I remember racing it light to light in the Houston area.

No, but the neighbors next door bought a VW Jetta in 87-ish and called it Jedi.

My Kentucky experience has been limited to Interstate passing thru travel and a few hotel stays over the decades (mostly in early-middle 80s) and a single layover at Cinci airport (which is in KY).

The ex gf (Texas girl) went to college at UK in Kentucky and used to win free meals eating jalapenos and hot stuff.

The new ones are just so cheap and disposable any more. Insurance wants to just total you and cut a cheap check.

my warranty ran out and the wheels immediately started falling off.

Agreed. FTS. There's a reason I don't give Google my identity NOR my money. Their services are sliding down the steep slope of enshitification and the CEO is asshole buddies with the GOP.

I just started the first book in the Dungeon Crawler Carl series and I'm loving it so far (30ish pages in).

Derek Hawkins @wrytersblockdh.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

That one was the first one I used. My first one I got was White face with purple numbers and bells on the top of it. Yes, an old fashion one. I think I'd come home from the UK with it, so that was 50 years ago.

My 80s Middle school alarm clock looked most like (4) but with black buttons and no radio. "Welcome to 7th Grade! Happy Birthday! Here's an alarm clock!"

Probably as it won't come find you. Anything that comes find you for lunch will EAT you for lunch.

Recently saw a wall display of all the Disney (and Pixar) animated movies in chron release order and had to look this one's release date. I was release like a 1/4" to the left (before) this one on the wall. lol
