Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 30/03/2026The Kittiwake is definitely a different bird to the one present on Titchmarsh NR the day before. That one had a clean white head - a more mature adult. 100
Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 20/02/2026The Lesser Scaup at Clifford Hill today was a county tick for me. I was away in Australia when the Ditchford bird was around. Miserable in the wind and rain, but still a delight to see. Great find by Tyler Atkinson. #northantsbirds 1111
Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 13/02/2026Pleased it stuck around for you. It must have been a long week at work! 110
Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 13/02/2026With news of Common Scoter at other sites in Northants I had to make a visit to Titchmarsh NR, despite the rain. Rewarded with 3 drakes on Town lake. The first Feb site record since 1975! Drake Ring-necked Duck made an appearance on the reserve. Heavy rain so not great for photos #northantsbirds 0110
Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 10/02/2026Great photos, given the conditions. Certainly better than mine taken later in the morning. 000
Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 26/01/2026The light was not great today for photographing Crossbills, but did manage a few shots of 16 birds at Wakerley Woods at midday. A long walk before finding them. #northantsbirds 0121
Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 18/01/2026Pleased you caught up with it. So difficult to photograph as it is so active and so many twigs in the way, so great effort. 010
Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 11/01/2026The Thrapston/Titchmarsh area is certainly the place to be in the county at the moment. Seems like you had a great day. 010
Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 11/01/2026Great photos. Dog walkers always seem oblivious to anyone else around them! 100
Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 27/12/2025Pleased to find this drake American Wigeon at Titchmarsh NR today. A patch tick for me! #Northantsbirds 0162
Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 28/10/2025Brilliant stuff. I can imagine the stress! Two in one year in Northants and I've been away for both! At least this one is at a more publicly accessible site. 100
Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 10/10/2025Couldn't resist the Red-tailed Shrike any longer, so made the trip to Suffolk yesterday. Such a showy and entertaining bird. 010
Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 01/10/2025Cropped photos of the American Golden Plover in Northants today. Unusual bobbing action illustrated in the video. #northantsbirds 050
Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 28/05/2025Was hoping the heavy showers might drop a Sandwich Tern into Titchmarsh NR, but wasn't expecting a Kittiwake. A group of c10 3rd summer LBbGs arrived and I then realised a Kittiwake had also dropped in. Landed once before the larger gulls chased it off. A very odd date for one. #northantsbirds 030
Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 27/05/2025Looking thru my recent videos reminded me of the dark billed tern I saw briefly at IL&M in April. Common Terns can be quite variable. #northantsbirds 130
Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 19/05/2025Three Turnstone at Titchmarsh NR this morning. Continuing our run of good wader records. Ringed Plover was also first for the year. #northantsbirds 010
Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 18/05/2025White-winged Tern through the heat haze at Summer Leys this morning. Cracking bird. #northantsbirds 040
Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 10/05/2025Grey Plover at Titchmarsh NR this morning. Unfortunately, distance and heat haze meant no photographs. First here since 2022. Water Rail more obliging, and Whimbrel still present. #northantsbirds 030
Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 30/04/2025Impressive group of 15 Ruff dropped down at Titchmarsh NR this morning. Largest flock here for 40 years! With a Spotted Redshank yesterday, we are on a bit of a roll. #northantsbirds 030
Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 08/04/2025The best I could manage of two Dotterel at Harrington AF this morning. Distance and heat haze a problem. #northantsbirds 030
Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 05/04/2025Two of the three Spotted Redshanks at Lower Barnwell Flood from this morning. My first in Northants for a couple of years. Great find by John Hunt. #northantsbirds 030
Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 17/03/2025This duck was present again today. Always viewing through trees, so not ideal for pictures. Mix of features, but difficult to see bill. Didn't flap wings. #northantsbirds 120

Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 12/02/2025The Ring-necked Duck was again at @wildlifebcn.bsky.social Titchmarsh NR today. The first day this week that I've been over to look. #northantsbirds 020
Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 04/02/2025Titchmarsh does seem to be a good location for them within the county. Absolutely nothing on Heronry lake today, so returned to normal. 110
Nick @wryneck57.bsky.social · 03/02/2025Found a very smart Ring-necked Duck @wildlifebcn.bsky.social Titchmarsh NR this afternoon. The 7th record for the reserve and has now been recorded for 5 years in a row. ##northantsbirds 170
