We're extremely close to the administrator of DOGE being the friends we made along the way.

The fuck are you talking about. This is self-induced. It didn't happen during the Biden administrations attempt to reshore manufacturing of critical supply chains. "We can't shit our pants with no consequences now" is not a compelling argument.

Ironically it feels like there's a legit white supremacists deep state now. I believe that Trump believes Abrego Garcia is a gang member because Stephen Miller told him. Wormtongue ass presidency.

I mean its a waste of the firms money to increase the total pro bono hours since they're not billing to commercial clients. If adverse causes are therefore crowded out and associates lose the ability to choose their work, I would expect significant attrition. Competition for talent is ruthless.

OMB definitely exists. There's a strong dichotomy between *agencies* and *the white house.* OMB is a white house office which exercises control over agency actions. Right now, OMB is insisting on reviewing vietually everything. Whether those approvals are moving forward....*shrug*

I know. I just don't understand how those agreements are enforced. Presumably associates have to volunteer for pro bono work. Would pro bono on causes adverse to the administration be approved? If so, why would you volunteer for a cause you disagreed with?

This has to be the WH just saying shit and expecting law firms to fall in line. How could this possibly be enforced? Would attorney pro bono hours have to be approved by OMB?

ICYMI: Georgetown Law students made a 853-row spreadsheet of Trump-caving firms. It drew national headlines. Recruiters noticed some talent looked elsewhere. Firms lobbied to change their designation. An organizer tells @www.AllRiseNews.com the background www.allrisenews.com/p/skadden-st...

Industrial decarb can be a big driver here -- Dow chemical just applied for a construction permit to build four reactors to replace natural gas for industrial heat and power.

Fedsoc students will tell you with a straight face that nothing Trump has done is any worse than Biden trying to do student loan forgiveness because the Court struck it down. What happens when the court *itself* is lawless is a huge, huge problem.

This is what I mean about feelings. It's inarguable that Harris would've been a better President for Palestinians than Trump. If you're not willing to use what little influence you have to make the world a better (or at least less shitty) place for Palestinians, you don't actually care about them.

Being mean online isn't why libs dislike leftist. That's just good old fashioned left-wing infighting. I dislike anyone who votes for Jill Stein or abstains. Putting your own feelings above your country and fellow citizen.

Plainly disconnected from reality. The decline of mainstream religions coincides with the increased political salience of eight wing evangelicalism. We've never had a stronger right wing religious fundamentalist movement in this country that we do now. I'm anti-intollerance, not anti-religion.

Foreign and out of state students pay for the cost of attendance by low income students. This is an attack on those of us who would never have been able to afford university.

The "mistake" they seem to have learned from was to put the internment camps on U.S. soil. Politically even easier to disappear them into el Salvadoran slave labor camps.

Genuinely thinking to myself "what would Gandalf do" helped me reorient away from destructive thought patterns. Gandalf would be building bridges between the free peoples, not sinking deeper into our own camps out of fear and distrust.

I have an alternative theory. The smart conservatives are high achieving in law school and get funneled into the judiciary. If you're a conservative law student and don't do well, you become a politician. The system selects for failing upwards.

An underdiscussed aspect is that the concentration of economic activity in cities grew significantly. AT&T and airlines used to have rural subsidies built into rates before deregulation. If you really want to bring down property prices in the cities, disperse economic activity.
