I'm seeing a lot of discussions regarding the Anthropic settlement over on Threads, with many authors reporting publishers are being sharks — like by trying to take 100% of their awarded compensation — and other shenanigans. Thought I'd share this here jic #BookSky authors are also affected.

Post 1: I would like to report on the literary agents who are claiming a percentage of their clients' Anthropic settlement. But I need some authors willing to share info about who these agents are (privately - no need to go on the record). Reach out: hello@janefriedman.com

Post 2: Anthropic copyright settlement authors, contact Writer Beware (Victoria Strauss) if your publisher is making a claim on a book whose rights have reverted, or claiming anything other than a 50/50 split on an in-contract book. beware@sfwa.org
