Yeeeeah they’re all short little sections and I have hella notes for everybody so it’s not too bad, it just sounds like it is 🤣

Allyson McCollum @writingspider96.bsky.social · 11/10/2026

That IS the plot in Mors Obliviscens 🤣 Flit is borderline nosy, so much so that it makes Grim nervous on a daily basis for various reasons. #awesomecharacters

Fifth and final (for now) is the one I got for my sister and I. Dancing is the only hobby we shared growing up (she’s more sporty/athletic) so I wanted to immortalize that little connection

Allyson McCollum @writingspider96.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Fourth is the tattoo I got in celebration of Mors Obliviscens being published, with a raven and scythe to represent the reapers and lilies and coin to represent Flit

000

Allyson McCollum @writingspider96.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Third is my writing spider, self explanatory 🤣

000

Allyson McCollum @writingspider96.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Second tattoo I got after my great-grandmother passed. Each of the flowers represents a woman who helped raise me (pink rose is Granny, daffodil is Nanny, blue hydrangea is Mimi, and vervain is Mama) and the butterfly is for me

000

Allyson McCollum @writingspider96.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

The mountain was my very first tattoo (left shoulder) that I got after my dad passed in 2020. He loved the Great Smoky Mountains and we went there every summer as far back as I can remember

Allyson McCollum @writingspider96.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Kinda late #freefriday for #fantasyindieoctober but I figured I could do a #tattootour for y’all this time, so I put them in the order that I got them in. Explanations for their meanings will be underneath because they will not all fit in this caption 🤣 #inkedauthor #tattoos

It would require them to do more than nap all day though, so I’m not all that worried about it 🙄🤣 #petsky #dogs #cats #cutepets #animalsky

Very much so. It gets worse in book 2 😇

Allyson McCollum @writingspider96.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Okay so it’s not just me then 🤣 I swear I don’t do it on purpose it just happens

He also has pretty privilege, but that’s not always gonna save him 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

Deep down, the main antagonist of #morsobliviscens was just trying to do the right thing…the wrong way #awesomecharacters #weeknightwriters

Allyson McCollum @writingspider96.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

She’s already a #ghost but not everyone in her world can see #spirits without help of some kind. I can’t decide if she would just use a basic white one or one with a color/pattern to be funny 🤣 #fantasyindieseptember #paranormalbooks #morsobliviscens #booksky #awesomecharacters #weeknightwriters

Allyson McCollum @writingspider96.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

The team I have does both. Multiple rounds of it in fact.

000

Allyson McCollum @writingspider96.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

I do the editing until it goes to my book coach & publishing team

110

Allyson McCollum @writingspider96.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

Not at the moment, it’s a long way off from that stage

010

Allyson McCollum @writingspider96.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

The only difference between #flit and I is she has superpowers and I’m just mouthy to hateful people 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣 #fantasyindieseptember #awesomecharacters #bravery #morsobliviscens #booksky #weeknightwriters

Today’s #saturdaysnippet is my first trip to an apple orchard! Thankfully we got up there and got all ours picked before it got hot, and we all enjoyed some cider afterwards. Now I gotta decide what to do with all of mine 😅 #fantasyindieseptember #fallactivities #applepicking

About as well as the family tree 🫠🤣

110

Allyson McCollum @writingspider96.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Trying to fill out my sister’s dad’s side of the family 🤦🏻‍♀️ apparently some of her folks just appeared fully-grown one day and got married. (I know why it’s this way it’s just frustrating trying to dig and dig for accurate information)

110

Allyson McCollum @writingspider96.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

Not #writing related but it’s #freefriday today so I’ll post about a different #hobby instead. Got any tips for my #geneaology searching? Especially for relatives that apparently just sprung up out of the ground one day with no records? 🫠 #fantasyindieseptember

120

Allyson McCollum @writingspider96.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

My team covers multiple rounds of editing so I don’t have to find a separate person

110

Allyson McCollum @writingspider96.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

Yes because I don’t have the money to hire extra people beyond my book coach and publishing team, who will get it when I feel I have self-edited to the fullest extent of my abilities.

110

Allyson McCollum @writingspider96.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

Working on line edits at the moment then I will take care of the developmental edits before starting draft 2

110

Allyson McCollum @writingspider96.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

Still nowhere near done #editing this draft of #vitapersequens but a little progress is better than none at all. Also haven’t #read anything in weeks until I made myself pick something off my #tbrlist to start on for #fantasyindieseptember.

I’m friendly, don’t get me wrong, but my social battery doesn’t last as long as hers. And she’s more likely to approach someone first than me; I’m more like an NPC with weird sidequests 🤣 #fantasyindieseptember #morsobliviscens #awesomecharacters #weeknightwriters #booksky

It’s not often that I #DNF a #book but it’s not totally unheard of either. What usually makes you put a #story down without #reading the whole thing? #fantasyindieseptember #booksky

Spend time outside while the weather is nice

Allyson McCollum @writingspider96.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

It’s not always big flashy disasters or lengthy wars that end a world. Sometimes it’s just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sometimes it’s trusting the wrong person. #fantasyindieseptember #apocalypticfiction #paranormal #writing #booksky

Allyson McCollum @writingspider96.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

I am hereby challenging myself to #read these 3 #books in the next month, after not #reading at all for several weeks this year. It’s been driving me nuts just staring at my #tbrlist and not doing anything about it… #fantasyindieseptember #booksky

The last one is only usable under extreme duress, and is more of a “I don’t care how big the room is I cast Fireball” situation. The shockwave and shrapnel won’t hurt her but everyone else is in danger, even allies. #fantasyindieseptember #ghosts #paranormalbooks #weeknightwriters #awesomecharacters

Guess it’ll depend on the vibes once the #morsobliviscens series is finished. There’s only one #book left after #vitapersequens and #interim but I still have plenty of time to decide considering where I am in the writing process. #fantasyindieseptember #weeknightwriters #booksky💙📚
