Hard to get loud for a team that kills any momentum by getting penalized every 3 plays. An absolute joke. That second half was one of the worst I’ve ever seen, and not bc Lamar missed most of it. TOO MANY DUMB PENALTIES. 3-1 and I feel like we’re 1-3.

Don’t disagree with the sentiment, but Elias was never the GM of the Astros. I believe he ran scouting and eventually became asst GM, but the buck didn’t stop with him in Houston like it obviously does now. Recommence Elias bashing.

Disappointment affect them the next season. Had tons of heart and great leadership that kept them focused and they finally won it all in ‘83. This team we have now as constructed has none of that.

God. ‘79 we lose the World Series after being up 3 games to 1, bounceback win 100 in ‘80 but no playoffs, 59-46 in strike-shortened ‘81 and no playoffs, 94 wins in ‘82 and miss out on playoffs on last day of season (one of my worst memories). All this to say, they never let previous season’s…

Cool to see former O’s great Steve Stone in the booth for this playoff game. Stone went 25-7 in 1980, winning the Cy Young that year…a year in which the O’s won 100 games but didn’t make the playoffs because the yanks won 103. A far cry from 2026 when winning 81 games wins your division.
