Black Twitter is legendary. Iconic. Hilarious. A testament to social media movements ability to create change. So this talk on the @urbanreadsbooks.bsky.social stage about it looks pretty good. www.instagram.com/p/DN1y-wGYnt...

Author and Professor Sherri Williams discusses her book BLACK SOCIAL TELEVISION: HOW BLACK TWITTER CHANGED TELEVISION.

Again, the Sinners talk is something I must attend, and y'all should, too! (I'm also double posting this because I didn't include a link to the event on the previous thread and I feel bad about it) www.instagram.com/p/DN6nBfagXJm/

"Come join me, SFWA Executive Director Isis Asare, Teri Clarke, Justina Ireland and Stacy Nathaniel Jackson for the panel, “Salvation: Life After Sinners (with @thehorrorwritersassociation)“ on Sept. 13 at 3 pm at the Peabody Heights Brewery on the @sfwa_inc Stage. Inspired by the music, community, and artistry of the film, the panel will discuss what salvation looks like through the lens of Horror, hoodoo, and witchcraft." IG: @somtoihezue

A new biography on James Baldwin? Sign me up. I need to finish my "The Fire Next Time" book ASAP, and then branch out towards his other great works. www.citylitproject.org/brilliance-o...

"The New York Times named it a most anticipated book. Deemed a “monumental” biography by Zadie Smith and bearing witness to “his determination to leave something behind that would ultimately become our inheritance” by Lena Waithe, CityLit welcomes NICHOLAS BOGGS and his profound new work, Baldwin: A Love Story. The first major biography of iconic figure James Baldwin in over three decades brings Jimmy to life with a deeply intimate exploration of his personal and artistic relationships."

Sinners is a good movie. A really good movie. So knowing there's a talk about the movie and its use of hoodoo is gonna be great. Plus, a fellow Terp is on the panel!

The 26th Baltimore Book Festival returns this month! On Saturday, September 13 2025, the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association (SFWA) will take over the SFWA stage with a full day of panels featuring SFWA members and other storytellers in the genre.

Don’t miss Somto Ihezue (co-editor of Will This Be A Problem? The Anthology: Issue V) on the panel “Salvation: Life After Sinners (with HWA)” at Peabody Heights Brewery from 3 PM. Inspired by the film Sinners, the panel will discuss what salvation looks like through the lens of horror, hoodoo and witchcraft. Swipe to see the full stage schedule.

Copies of Issue V will be on sale, with a book signing happening at the festival. See you there.

I finished the comic series "Eight Billion Genies." What an incredibly beautiful and thought-provoking story. I think I found the basis for my first "real" YouTube video. If everyone in the world had one wish, what would you wish for?

My voter card for the upcoming #GameAwards. A lot of it is my professional predictions on what will win, but I personally hope Balatro wins GOTY, Monster Hunter Wilds wins most anticipated, and Shadow of the Erdtree gets NOTHING. SotE is a phenomenal piece of DLC, not a game. Also, s/o to Kenzera!

Took the trip out to City Hall for my upcoming story on the $44 million ADA settlement on upgrading curbs and sidewalks in Baltimore City. This could be an ongoing funding program charged by BDOTS o'er the next 25 years. Stay tuned.
