I did the lights at one of their shows, which consisted of me standing by the light switch and turning it off when they started. DIY, baby

I've seen (sigh) 213 sets total, 74 of which I'd deem at least good. It has been a good year.

While this is fresh in my mind, best sets I've seen this year: 1. Gustaf 2. Rhododendron 3. Corima 4. Tangerine Dream 5. Dolphin Hyperspace 6. Hannah Frances 7. Oranssi Pazuzu 8. Guck 9. Madeline Goldstein 10. Melt-Banana

Thank you! Think Bari sent one, but want to go in semi-blind once I can get my mitts on the CD. Another good year for riff enthusiasts.

I am writing about one of my favorite albums of the year and I'm reasonably confident the person who made the album will hate it. And so it goes.

The best dark horse track for a song Prince wrote for someone else is El Debarge's "Tip O' My Tongue." El really putting some extra sauce on that thing. www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKel...

"Electric Intercourse" at First Avenue in 1983 and "Empty Room/Elixer" at Montreux in 2009 are my favorite live cuts, with the latter being my favorite Prince recording of all-time.

15. Come 16. Eye Hate U And then we hit the 'life is too short' zone. "Dream Factory," "Rocknroll Love Affair," "The Greatest Romance Ever Sold," and "Elixer" are the songs I care about the most. "Erotic City" and "She's Always in My Hair" are the b-sides. "Wonderful Ass" is the best vault cut.

The Goo Goo Dolls recorded Hold Me Up, while the Counting Crows let Adam Duritz — the captain of the 1990s All-Decade Team for 'she's dating him????' — make that noise at 4:06 of "Rain King." The answer is clear.
