Our colleague Carlos has written about the recent changes that brought Skia-based compositing to WPE WebKit and WebKitGTK 2.54: among other things, we perform >30% better in the benchmarks we run, compared to the results TextureMapper previously achieved. More at blogs.igalia.com/carlosgc/202...
