My "the point" argument was specifically POV fursuiter. I can see your struggle with the smaller-group idea, im comfortable in company of friends as well, and so far i have always been able to manage that either individually, or even better as a joint group. It CAN work. But it doesnt always.

Plain comfort is also a reason. Youre on vacation after all. And privacy/safety as well. If your main objective for traveling is partying, hanging out with likeminded chaotic friends and you dont mind a busy/shared bedroom, go for it? Its a valid method to make a fun con feasible in lower budget.

Fursuiters with long carry-distance might fursuit less if the transport/road is too much hassle. And Whats the point of having a fursuit, if you end up not wearing it at a con? Also some people need their private den to hide in order to calm their mind down from the crowded con space.
