ORDERING IS NOW OPEN!!! (Link below and on our Linktree in bio.) Please order your tests, whether you "have enough" or can afford to purchase them yourself. Demanding the tests already set aside for you by the federal government proves we still care about the ongoing pandemic.
Screenshot from linked site. Text under the USPS logo reads: Thank you, your order # [redacted with flower stickers] has been placed. Orders will ship free starting the week of October 2, 2023. Red text has been photoshopped above this and reads: Ordering is Now Open for Your Free COVID Rapid Tests!!! COVID.gov/tests

Now on our Linktree (in bio)!!! Very proud to know everyone involved in this effort, of the mask bloc work being done in communities around the world, and of the commitment to making this zine a reality. Looking forward to everyone's feedback before the print version!
A graphic that says in black lettering at the top "Want to Protect Your Community?" The bottom text says "But Have No Idea Where to Start?" The photo in the center is of the title page of How to Start a Mask Bloc. The names of each organization is in a sun shape. Alt text for the design is also on the image. A black arrow pointing toward the next image says "We Got You." The entire graphic is on a lime green background. The second image is a graphic with a lime green background. At the top of the page it says "8 Collectives. 37 Pages. Easy to navigate, detailed info, photos, and graphics." The bottom of the graphic says "Get into it. And get started." The URL: https://tinyurl.com/HowToStartAMaskBloc is present as well. The image in the middle is of several of the zine's pages overlapping one another as if scattered on a desk. The text is too small to read.

Neither species is verbal, and they may occasionally absorb more than one pin, which is why each is tagged with their distro's name. By clicking on the distro's pin (they're all marked with stars), the precise nature and personality of a given blob (or blob pair) becomes clear.
Screenshot zoomed into an intermediate position between the last two slides. The same emoji points to the same pin, which now has a large white text box popping up from it. Text in the box reads, "The Mid-South's CDC (TN). Community mask support serving Germantown, Collierville, Bartlett, and Midtown Memphis, TN by pickup and delivery. — Note: shipping of masks is available to addresses anywhere in Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Tennessee. — Email: The MidSouthsCDC@proton.me — Instagram: https://instagram.com/TheMidSouthsCDC — Info Current as of August 25, 2023. The top portion of the text with the delivery and shipping information is circled in purple, and a corresponding purple text box reads, "click on the PIN for the full distro details of both service areas."

Its rarer cousin (Blobus maximus) is grey, often very large, and quite thin. They are easy to see at a distance, but become nearly transparent up close. Its presence near a pin indicates that this group will ship masks OR can offer extended delivery under special circumstances.
Screenshot from Google Maps zoomed out much wider over the southeastern US. The starred purple icon still sits over the Memphis area. The WWMM logo is in the bottom right corner. In the middle of the screenshot is the same jagged grey shape from the first slide, but now the grey is paler and it is mostly a heavy black outline. It encompases all of Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama. A large blue circle is labeled with white letters that read, "wider service area," and three long blue arrows point to the zone covered by the greyish blob. A corresponding blue text box reads, "a wider service area blob may indicate mask shipping or extended delivery under special circumstances." In the bottom left is the emoji of a smiling face with a heart over the mask in a dark purple circle with a purple arrow pointing to the starred purple icon. A corresponding purple text box reads, "pin marks a generic, approximate hub. (City or other distro area.)"

The more common of the two (Blobus domesticus) is purple, semi-transparent, and typically smallish. Its presence near a pin indicates that this mask distro has specified to WWMM their approximate coverage area delivery, pickup, and/or other local services under usual conditions.
Screenshot from Google Maps zoomed in on the Memphis metro area. The middle of the screenshot is the same purple shape from slide 1, but now it surrounds the area ranging from Midtown Memphis east to Collierville, and an additional rounded bloop juts into the northeast to contain Bartlett. A large blue circle is labeled with white letters that read, local service area, and three long blue arrows point to the zone covered by the purple blob. A corresponding blue text box reads, "a local service area blob may indicate mask pick up, delivery, dispensers, or masks at local events." In the top right is an emoji of a smiling face with a heart over the mask. It's surrounded by a purple circle, and a purple Arrow points to a lighter purple icon in the middle of the purple blob. The icon has a white star in the middle of it. A corresponding purple text box reads, "pin marks generic center of local service area, not a real location."

We know you're probably almost as antsy to see the map as we are to show it off. But we still need a lot of approvals before it's much worth seeing. (Hint hint: If your group wants a pin, hit our DMs!) So today, an explainer about one of our favorite features: The Blobs! 🧵🧵
Over a background that's a screenshot of an unmarked wilderness from Google maps is a translucent square with a thin blue frame. Inside the frame are 2 relatively amorphos semi-transparent shapes. One is purple. It's narrow and long, with rounded edges. The other is gray, and both wider and more jagged than the purple one. Behind them and to the side is the gestural mask shape from our logo, containing 3 large, dark green question marks. Outside the frame is text that reads: A Field Guide to the Blobs. What are they and what do they mean? WWMM Teaser #1, along with the WWMM logo.

Found this image again late last night, and we're reminded all over again why we feel so called to this project. It's not only that everyone needs to mask. It's that not everyone can access the mask they need. Merci à l'Association Winslow Santé Publique, c'est vraiment un graphisme merveilleux.
Superimposed over a satellite view screenshot of the map (credited to WWMM in the bottom right corner) is a poster credited to Collectif Winslow Santé Publique. It is a two part illustration with handwritten text highlighted boldly in yellow. In both illustrations, all the people are a tinted a faded aquamarine color.

At the top, a person with short hair flexes their huge bicep, smiling broadly while also breathing a huge amount of boldly colored red-pink coronaviruses. A masked child lies in a hospital bed in the background. Text reads: Denial doesn't make you less vulnerable.

Below that, a crowd of about a dozen people of assorted ages, genders, and abilities appear to be on a march or otherwise protesting. One has a raised fist. All are in masks of the same bold salmony color as the viruses. Text reads: But taking care of each other makes us stronger.

One of our team members just enrolled in this to test the system. Their tests shipped in <3 hrs & arrived the next day. One nice thing: You do NOT need to use the provided tests to access telehealth/antivirals. You can use ANY approved test & still qualify for the program, running thru April 2024.
Screenshot from Test2Treat.org. Next to stock photos showing a diverse array of people doing various activities, text reads: WHEN YOU SIGN UP, YOU GET: Free COVID-19 tests if you need them, Access to COVID-19 telehealth visits with a healthcare provider, COVID-19 medication* delivered to your home or pharmacy. In the white space to the right and left, www.Test2Treat.org has been photoshopped in.

ID: Screenshot of 2 answers from the Test2Treat FAQ page tiled together. Text reads: Do I have to use an eMed® Test to Treat Kit to participate in the program? No, you do not. You can use any FDA- authorized COVID-19 test. The eMed® Test to Treat Kits are offered by the program for your convenience. How long will I have access to these services? Once you register, you will have access to telemedicine through April 2024. You can keep your COVID-19 tests if you don't use all of them.Screenshot of 2 answers from the Test2Treat FAQ page tiled together. We know every face is unique, and it can take experimentation to find that comfortable fit that also gives a good seal. We also know different masks are great in different situations. But if you had to pick just one, which mask are you wearing? And why do you love it so much???
Over a faded out screenshot of the Gulf and Mid-South states and surrounding the WWMM mask icon with 3 big green question marks inside, bold purple text reads, "WWMM Wants to Know: What's your favorite mask? And why does it rule???"

Probably the most frequent conversation we have about this project (besides the project itself) is how much we all despise the fact it's necessary. Community care is and will always be essential. But regular folks should never have to spend their labor compensating for total public abandonment.
Screenshot of a tweet by Muting/Blocking Self Care (@ QueeringPsych) that reads:

I hate having to put so much of my brain energy towards avoiding & surviving COVID

I really resent the gov abandoning us so my household has to do so much to make for that lack of support

I'd rather COVID survival care packages or stipends from the gov instead of cop cities

Banner Image Alt Text:
Screenshot from Google Earth of part of the map over North America. A huge purple pin is centered over one of the actual map pins. The big pin contains a version of the logo where the initials in the mask have been replaced with a star. Two lines of white text are aligned to the right side, opposite the profile photo. The surround the big pin and read, "In the absence of a community of care, it is our duty to create one."

Profile Photo Alt Text:
In a dark blue circle is a gestural icon of a mask with a well-formed nose and dangling headstraps. The initialism WWMM has been rendered in an angular font that allows the each letter pair to be combined into a single glyph suggesting both letters.

Everyone deserves access. Everyone deserves protection. Everyone deserves safety. Everyone deserves support. Everyone can help.
Square graphic containing a screenshot from Google Earth showing part of the map over eastern North America. A huge purple pin is centered over one of the actual map pins. The big pin contains a version of the logo where the initials in the mask have been replaced with a star. At the top of the image, in an area with no map pins, text begins, "In the absence of a community of care," the, below the large purple pin, the sentence ends saying, "it is our duty to create one." The WWMM logo appears off to the bottom right on the Atlantic shelf.

Watch this space. 📍 🗺 👀 [red pin emoji over a map emoji with the eyes emoji looking on with interest from the side]
Over a screenshot from Google Earth showing most of eastern North America, from the Arctic to the middle of the southern US, sits the World Wide Mask Map logo, a gestural N95 with dangling head straps and the green initialism WWMM in the center. Below that, white all-caps text reads, "Coming Soon."
