The No 9 trolley from Ellicott City to Baltimore opened in 1899, along a scenic path carved through woodlands and proceeding into the city for day trips and daily commutes until its destruction for car routes on the city side. At some point, this terrifying picturesque one lane bridge happened.
A terrifying but picturesque one lane steel truss car bridge hovers 30 or so feet over a trail blasted through grey bedrock. The trail has a boardwalk and railings and is itself over a bit of a ravine. Trees grow along the sides and hang over the open space. There is a white pickup truck on the bridge

Very close to the finale, it started raining. No one moved except to shield the electronics. I snapped a phone picture for my memory, and whispered that I was absolutely going to lose it when Tim Curry left us. And I did.
A portable projector screen set up against a copse of trees, backlit slightly by a distant bonfire. Tim Curry as Dr Frankenfurter is on the screen, singing. The caption shows the lyrics "like I'm outside in the rain"

👍🏻 A good ten miles of well maintained official bike trail accessible nearly from your doorstep. 👎🏻 It's built on the bones of a world-class city wide trolley system ripped out for the Eisenhower highway project as per the plot of Who Framed Roger Rabbit. No 9 Trolley Trail, Ellicott City, Maryland.
Boardwalk section of a rail trail in a deciduous forest in summer, cloudy afternoon. The railings are either growing moss or reflecting the trees, probably both

Emergency Frod habitat construction. This buddy was in the rain barrel, somehow? A Ranger's work is never done. #gardening #frogs
A large black pirate themed popcorn bowl sits on some tire mulch (ugh) in the shade next to crepe myrtle branches and green leaves. There are sticks and a magnolia leaf in it, making a ladder and raft. A tiny grey tree frog sits on the edge. Grey tree frog clinging for dear life to a small crepe myrtle trunk, with green leaves in the background. The tree has a slight case of powdery mildew, which makes sense and is less alarming in the context of the whole garden I promise

Free Library is not so little on the inside. Main Street, #EllicottCity Maryland. #drwho
Against a dreary backdrop in a historic town center, a life size TARDIS little free library sits with one door open to display books. Project is sponsored by the local county library. It is not yet dark enough outside for the light on top to turn on.

What a feeling to plop down in the local public library stacks and incidentally find a book by an old friend from years and platforms and a snake portrait workshop ago. (Yes of course I checked it out, @kylecassidy.bsky.social)
Library book propped up against its shelf: The Lopapeysa Sweater travel guide and knitting book by Kyle Cassidy and Joan of Dark Knits. Trillian is on the cover in a stunning example, against an Icelandic landscape.

You guyyyssssss the Kodak keychain camera is so adorably smol. Glasses for scale. There is a 64 gb memory card in that thing, merely half of what it supports. Takes video. Looking forward to taking it out places I don't want to lug more expensive or heavy equipment. www.kodak.com/en/consumer/...
Red plastic camera attached to a keychain. The package inserts show multiple color cases and identify it as a Charmera and provide info about the model it is spoofing. A pair of black plastic glasses sit beside all this, showing the keychain is only one lens wide, all told about the size of a pack of gum.

Did I finish #knitting the magical Ithaca trip yarn hat before snow? No. But does it fit? On the fourth try, yes.
Hand knit beanie on a dish towel printed with sort of New England winter leaves. It has a slow gradient and a pattern with zig zag floats on the outside, making extra layers of warmth.

Yarn chicken. Do I frog the crown - again - and add a couple rows in the decrease and make a gentler curve with less bunching? Or will it lead only to folly? #knitting
Hat. Beanie, to be precise, still on the knitting needles. There is a very very small amount of yarn left with which to try this plan.

Work in Progress: extra cicada parade-a fellow picked up last year. Approximately 1 in 200,000 17-year cicadas have blue-grey eyes. I found one in the old yard, gonna paint up a friend in its honor. The original project in Baltimore: www.cicada2021.com

Pine coaster with inset cotton print of a poppy flower with silver doodles drawn over it, plus more materials lined up for more prints. American Visionary Art Museum Kinetic Sculpture Race from Patterson Park. Pure and bright #Baltimore weirdness. #AVAM.
Amphibious human powered vehicle titled play2pus, made of a metal frame connecting bicycles over a red pontoon base, topped by a giant stuffed platypus. The front of the vehicle is decorated as an air horn with "platypus" written backwards like an ambulance. A price is right wheel sits on the back of the vehicle, listing highland games to try. The riders are costumed in kilts and Scottish hats, as is the platypus.Fifi leads the charge: a giant fluffy pink dog sculpture atop a wheeled vehicle pulled over on the side of a park park. Bicycle riders with helmets decorated to look like the art vehicle flank it. Onlookers sit on a picnic blanket in the shade nearby.

Potential fun and educational new #StreetPhotography project: world's most dodgy ATMs. Along a walk to the 9:30, DC
A red metal box attached to a pink painted brick wall between two recessed glass doors. The box has very non standard cutouts to access an ATM keypad, display, receipt printer, and light up "ATM" text. It is covered in stickers and small marker-based graffiti. Below, a mailbox lid. Above, a yellow sign testing "24 hour ATM" also covered in stickers and graffiti. Street number 924. The company claiming to own it has a website still under construction.

Chasing waterfalls: this yearly camera schlepping hike destination was Watkins Glen State Park in New York. There are 19 of them in the gorge trail? It just keeps going? The last 800 steps can be skipped and you still get to see this bit:
Photograph head-on of a waterfall emptying into a bright blue naturally circular pool, with another waterfall seen from the side, runs over a path and through hanging moss. A stone bridge crosses the gorge above, part of a built path full of too many stairs. A person stands on a stairway landing looking across.
