Hello Crushers, WorksOfMagic here! As teased a few days ago, I have some updates and special announcements to make regarding the Crush 40 Archive. The last time I shared any updates was in late May, and a lot has happened since then, so let's quickly get over that. 🧵

There will be a lot of cool, not commonly found stuff that I'd like to share with y'all throughout the month, so I hope you're looking forward to what I might as well call "Crush 40 Jun(e)".

the band members' projects have been archived as well. From their early shows at Summer of Sonic or Sonic Boom, to some of Johnny's solo shows, including the odd Hardline show. Quite a bit was added, resulting in the archive now reaching a little over 110GB, as pictured below.

Today marks the 3rd year anniversary of an event that's quite special to me. The day @teamforever.bsky.social decided to stream ANATC3: Triple Trouble. It was special to me as I first discovered @huds601.co.uk, @argick.bsky.social and @nikoheart.com that day. (1/3)

Following the announcement of the Speed Of Sound World Tour, I thought I'd properly announce the release of a new 3-Source Merge Crush 40's 6th visit at Live Stage Guilty. ︀︀Come celebrate 12 years of this iconic concert when the merge premieres on March 30th.

Didn't have time to make a proper piece for the occasion due to IRL stuff getting in the way, but considering what day it is, I knew I couldn't miss on wishing @dreamfulblue.bsky.social a happy birthday by reposting some pieces from the past three years. Give her a follow btw. She deserves the love.

I'll be working my magic for next year, alright.

And finally, the exports for each iteration. [3/3]

WorksOfMagic @worksofmagic.bsky.social · 23/06/2025

After finishing it though, I kinda realized that it looked a bit... empty, so I gave the JP cover for Sonic 1 a quick study and came up with this small revision, as seen in this patchy timelapse included below. [2/3]

Fifth drawing of "Behind the Works Of Magic"! A big of a lengthier thread this time around as it's the blue boy's birthday. This is a piece I initially did for Sonic's 30th Anniversary. A first draft was done initially, and this was the result. Timelapse included below. [1/3]

Fourth drawing of "Behind the Works Of Magic"! This time, a big drawing, as it is my most successful drawing on Twitter: it's Yeehaw Sally! Lots of work needed between the sketch and the final drawing. With feedback from Jamo himself though, most issues were somewhat remedied.

Original sketch, dated August 14th, 2022

Third drawing of "Behind the Works Of Magic!" This time @drawwell.bsky.social's Brooke, which I made for his birthday... The magical birthday cake was always planned to be included in the final drawing, but I decided to keep it for when the lines would be worked on.

Initial sketch, dated January 21st, 2023.

Final drawing, dated January 21st, 2023.

Second drawing of "Behind the Works Of Magic"! This time, it's Amy in a casual dress. I really struggled more than I really should've, deciding on which colour the sweater should be. Between red and green though, I think I took the right decision for the final drawing.

Initial sketch, dated September 24th, 2022.

Final drawing, dated September 25th, 2022.

Don't know if I'm gonna make this a long-term series or not, but introducing "Behind The Works Of Magic", a look at my art at various phases vs the final render. First drawing is the very first one I did for @dreamfulblue.bsky.social. I fixed quite a bit of things for the final render.

Original sketch dated August 30th, 2022.

Final render, dated August 31st, 2022. I fixed a few things, and even added a chibi Shadow at the last minute.

19 years of existence. 11 years of drawing creation. And with that, an eventual need to move on to other things. [🧵]

*Checks calendar* 7 years to the day apparently, Mathilda... (Character belongs to Jamo)

So... you're probably wondering why I haven't uploaded any art in quite a while... Let's just say I've been busy with some things... A few making me busier than others while others are more minor... I've had my share of fun with these if that reassures you though.

A closer look at each disc's artwork. (1/2)

100

WorksOfMagic @worksofmagic.bsky.social · 22/03/2025

Haven't seen this art/design used elsewhere. Additionally, unlike the UK/US DVDs, these aren't in the usual DVD cases, but a unique boxset format. The menus are also pretty unique, despite not being much of a looker. Overall, it's a solid release, and a good way to watch the series in French!

100

WorksOfMagic @worksofmagic.bsky.social · 22/03/2025

No bonus features sadly, but, aside from the same redrawn proto-SatAM Sonic on the cover and menus, and the reused DiC Tails art, there is also new art of Sally... specifically, her pilot design, but with her final colors!

100

WorksOfMagic @worksofmagic.bsky.social · 22/03/2025

The French dub of SatAM had some differences, notably localizing a majority of the names, and the theme song is different, being based on the Italian theme of SatAM when it was paired with AoStH. It seems they put the dub track on top of the Shout masters, providing a pretty good image quality.

WorksOfMagic @worksofmagic.bsky.social · 22/03/2025

A SatAM DVD release has been preserved: the Complete Series box set in French! Ripped by yours truly and archived by @satamhistorian.bsky.social The set is partially based on the UK DVDs, at least cover wise, but there's a number of differences. For one, the series is presented with its French dub!

It's the special V-day everyone's talking about, but as I've not been able to put together something for lack of time, how about I reupload this piece from last year as a consolation price? Seems only fair, right? (Mathilda and Katie are property of JamoART)

Feeling silly, so have a Sally WIP.

Today happens to be @dreamfulblue.bsky.social's birthday, and for the first time ever (?), I finally have a gift that I finished in time for the big day. Something simpler, but that I enjoyed making because of that. It's Karamatsu and Shadow (aka her husbandos) being there for moral support. (1/2)

Haven't been able to do anything for a while, so here's this old fan DVD cover I did for a SatAM DVD Challenge handled by the folks over at @Freedom4Sonic on Twitter. That was over a year ago, and done under extreme crunch, so I'm glad I was able to make it. Included are the individual artworks too.
