“I'm sure the government wants to do something about this..because lower & younger lower-paid workers are particularly vulnerable” Great to hear from Jenny Jones standing in for Natalie Bennet argue for HSE involvement to protect workers most vulnerable to sexual harassment.

"It would be a no-brainer to try and work together across the House... to try and see if we can improve on what clearly isn't working at the moment." Great to hear Lord Russell on the 51 years of legislation and why we need real oversight on workplace sexual harassement.

Fantastic working with The Suzy Lamplugh Trust and Baroness Carmen Smith on amendments to the Employment Rights Bill- tackling the high rates of sexual harrasement in the workplace is early intervention that would have a huge impact on violence against women and girls.

Last week we met with Suzy Lamplugh Trust and Baroness Smith of Llanfaes to talk about workplace sexual harassment. We all agree that the law must do more. And the responsibility should lie with the Health and Safety Executive. 1/2

Aamaya, 21, reported sexual harassment. Her manager said: “I just basically won’t look into it.” She faced it alone. No action. No safety. No justice. #EndNotDefend means changing that—for good.

What would real protection look like? HSE classifying sexual harassment as a workplace hazard Mandatory employer action plans Consequences for employers who fail to protect workers A culture where harassment is NOT tolerated We can make this happen. workerspolicyproject.org/endnotdefend/

Employer Responsibility = HSE Responsibility Employers are legally required to keep workers safe. 🚨 But if @H_S_E doesn’t classify sexual harassment as a workplace hazard, how can workers be protected? 📢 HSE must step up! Demand real action: workerspolicyproject.org/endnotdefend/

Nearly half of women and 1 in 5 men experience sexual harassment at work. The impact? Stress, anxiety, job loss, and even being forced out of entire industries. 💪 Work should be SAFE for EVERYONE. @H_S_E must recognise sexual harassment as a health & safety issue

Workplace abuse isn’t Just part of the job. With ILO C190 ratified, we must ensure real protections. The HSE must step up to enforce anti-harassment rules. Safe workplaces aren’t optional—they’re a right! Share your story & demand action. #EndNotDefend workerspolicyproject.org/endnotdefend/#…

This #IWD, we want protection, not platitudes. Too many women face harassment, abuse, and unsafe conditions just for doing their jobs. It's time for employers to take responsibility. Women’s safety must be prioritised over company profits. #EndNotDefend

A woman reports sexual harassment at work. Instead of support, she faces an immigration check. A domestic worker flees an abusive employer. Instead of protection, she's threatened with deportation. No woman should be forced to stay silent out of fear. #EndNotDefend #IWD #SafeWorkplaces

Violence against women and girls rose by almost 40% between 2018 and 2023 to levels amounting to a "national emergency"—there was no change in 2024. We're joining LATUC to talk about recognising workplace sexual harrasement, and how we push for real protections. Link below.

That is why we are calling on the Government to introduce enforcement powers when organisations fail to protect workers. And annual published reporting, not just to address workplace sexual harrasment, but to prevent it from happening in the first place.

1 in 3 workers report having experienced sexual harrasement in the previous year alone, through the Employment Rights Bill, the Government now has the opportunity to force employers to take preventive steps. Please urgently ask your MP to sign the Early Day Motion

Further evidence shows that despite 40 years of legislation, sexual harassment will not end while the priority is for the law to provide a defense for company image rather than support victims. It is time to make sexual harassment history - join the campaign #EndNotDefend
