You ever feel like astrologers tell you it's a breakthrough point way too often? We do. But the cool part is those keywords aren't just gimmicky. They are a reminder of how much power we have to change our own lives moment to moment, and how the planets regularly position themselves to help us push through what felt impossible only a moment before. We don't control the landscape of our lives, although we can shape it. We don't control others, although we can collaborate or challenge them. We don't even fully control ourselves as creatures shaped by fate, experience, and circumstances of birth. But we do have a say in how we look at things, what options we choose from the available choices, our values, and what we are willing to put energy towards.

In this way, the path to liberation, the path that pushes all of us forward, is the recognition of what is and is not within our control. Yes, my history with philosophical Stoicism is sneaking out again. Yet if there was ever a time for a cosmopolitan, virtue-ethics philosophy focused on individual accountability for collective good, I'd say it was now. And in this moment, Uranus in Taurus coming to a standstill offers a new perspective on the impact of the current crossroads before us. The end of the retrogade punctuates how important our choices are even in the micro, particularly as Uranus's current host, exalted Pisces Venus, begins to slow herself, readying for her upcoming retrograde. Venus retrogrades are a time of collective reevaluation of many things, including fairness, justice, and what it means to be interconnected with the world and every being in it. Together, Venus and Uranus ask us if we are really going to do this again, if we are really going to repeat what we have already learned individually and as a species, or if we will choose better.

While we can't change everything today, we can see our own hand in our own microcosm of situations both connected and disconnected from the collective current. 1/2
