I can never resist sharing this Peanuts strip on the subject... ...from 1959
Peanuts strip, 10/23/59.

Charlie Brown: "I've never been so mad in all my life! I went down to the store to get a Halloween mask and they were all out of them!"
Patty: "Aren't they going to order any more?"
Charlie Brown: "HA! Are you kidding? THEY WERE BUSY PUTTING UP CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS!"

Comic strip: a whale in the top left corner, saying "BWOOOOOOOEEEE". A small deer in the bottom right corner saying "WTF".

Annoyingly, I cannot currently find the original artist of the longer comic strip—my sincere apologies, whoever you are.

Complete set of Charlie Brown's 'Cyclopedia, vol. 1-15. Each book cover is a primary color with Snoopy, often with other characters from the Peanuts gang, interacting with object(s) discussed in that particular volume, e.g. a car, a magnet, balloons, etc.

I mean, I do still think you've been conned into making a bad choice and it's going to bite you sooner rather than later. I'm just bummed that you're probably not wrong that the alternatives are also steadily getting worse. Good luck, I suppose.

Well, I definitely get the frustration at search engine enshittification—it's a real problem, not-so-ironically being manufactured by the same people peddling AI "solutions." So for you, "faster" is worth the risk of false information, and of maybe not being provided info that actually is relevant?
100
That other guy, but 17% spookier @wordivorous.bsky.social · 25/05/2026
The part that still confuses me is why you trust the machine to "fetch that information" when it's well-documented that it regularly fabricates and omits things? Which goes back to my earlier point. What are you using to double-check the supplied information, and why not just use that first?
100
That other guy, but 17% spookier @wordivorous.bsky.social · 25/05/2026
What part do you think I have misunderstood? You said "I don't use it for any other purposes than information gathering." I am confused about how you've convinced yourself that it's a time-saver, when you also realize you have to spend extra time fact-checking everything it supplies to you.
100
That other guy, but 17% spookier @wordivorous.bsky.social · 25/05/2026
If you have to fact-check everything it tells you, then why not cut out the middleman and just use the sources you're already using for fact-checking instead? Your process sounds inefficient.

It doesn't offend me, it baffles me. You've told a known liar not to lie to you, and you've chosen to believe it when it says "I won't lie to you." And when someone says "hey buddy, you know that thing is a liar," your reply is "you obviously just didn't think to tell it not to lie to you."

Step 1: decide to use a computer program widely known for telling you what you want to hear Step 2: tell it not to do that Step 3: believe it when it says it won't, which is what you want to hear Foolproof.

State-level restrictions in the United States on transgender people's use of public restrooms and facilities, showing where laws limit access based on gender identity in schools, government buildings, or both
State laws don't allow transgender people to use bathrooms or other public facilities that match their gender identity in any government-owned place—this includes public schools, colleges, and all other public buildings 2
State laws block transgender people from using facilities that match their gender identity in K–12 schools and some government buildings, but not everywhere 2
State laws only restrict transgender people from using bathrooms that match their gender identity in K–12 schools 3
No state, district, or territory-wide laws that stop transgender people from using bathrooms or facilities that align with their gender identity 1 / 2
Notes:
1 Montana's ban is currently blocked and unenforceable by court orders.
2 In Florida, Montana, Ohio, and Wyoming, bans apply to some private facilities. Other states only apply them to government-run buildings.
3 Virginia's restrictions come from state agency policy, not legislation, and affect schools as of June 4, 2024, in nine school districts.
