Exciting news! An Uncanny Bargain is in my editor's hands. It feels momentous after a year of health issues, switching jobs, and recovering from burnout.

4:5 image with a bright blue background and white embellishments. It has three words, "An Uncanny Bargain. The end. Our babies are off to the editor." Illustrated character art by Belinda Kroll featuring the hero (man with dark hair, medium brown skin, glasses, yellow bow tie) and heroine (blonde hair in big ringlets topped with a tiny straw hat, blushing ivory skin, bright blue eyes, glasses).

I feel like the author version of The Little Engine That Could is, "Make it make sense, make it make sense" instead of, "I think I can, I think I can."

An Uncanny Bargain: Cozy romantasy for Jane Austen fans

One sassy medium, one yearning ghost. No spice, slow-burn, absurd forced proximity meets Victorian misadventure in a swoony romance.

Gotta catch 'em all! So excited by my new business cards for the upcoming Columbus Book Festival. Always so pleased when things come in the mail from Moo. 📚💙 #booksky #romancelandia #cozyfantasy

Collection of portrait-oriented business cards featuring the book cover designs from Belinda Kroll's Hesitant Mediums series, strewn across a wooden background. One book has a purple cover, three have a green cover, one has a pink cover, one is brown, and one is blue. All but the brown cover have a silhouette of a couple wearing Victorian clothing, or otherwise have a single silhouette wearing period clothing.

Go where the muse finds you. For example, I just wrote the epilogue of book 3 despite not being halfway done with the actual story. It's absolute chaos over here.

The book I'm reading is making me relive my high school days of being bullied. It's a romance, so it ends in my nightmare of everyone being right, that their (our) hate-banter hid something else. But sometimes, enemies are just... enemies. Help me understand why everyone loves this trope 😭

Belinda Kroll @worderella.bsky.social · 09/02/2025

Me to the kids: "Get a snack, it's bedtime night. I mean, bath time night. Um... Every night is bedtime night." Husband in the background: 😂😂😂😂😂

...and THEN reveal you're the letter writer. That you've known for a while but her passion for her store was so inspiring he couldn't shut it down. Tell her we can make this work because it's freaking New York, there will never be enough bookstores. And everyone needs a Shop Around the Corner.

Ok so as much as I love You've Got Mail, it's also one of the laziest enemies to lovers. He was a freaking millionaire or something. Just privately invest in her shop, randomly show up one day to help her make it the perfect children's boutique bookstore...

Yeah they have a bunch of narrators on retainer and I felt they were very affordable compared to other places

She's fantastic. And Antoine Bandele A book Services is so efficient and blazing fast! I signed the contract in November and have the audio book in hand before the end of January?!

Such a great book. One of the first I read that didn't have that third act break up! I thought I missed something and then kicked my toes with delight, this way is infinitely better

Hey if you know Timothy Underwood, can you tell him I also make my copyright section snarky and I was delighted to read his take on the matter?

Don't mind me, just casually contacting artists to draw my OC's to populate my draft Kickstarter campaign for Book 3, which only has 18k words out of 60k written... 🛒🐴 💀

I'm supposed to be writing, but instead I'm searching for the right feels in my music so I can write. But I can't find the right feels because I don't know what to write. 🤪

The labels for my custom tea blend themed to match my book arrived today. So I suppose I can add "tea sommelier" to my list of crazy fun things I do as an indie author.

It's a Christmas miracle, the proofs arrived before January! Fitzy is my quality control team. We have a simple system: I ask for silence if the book meets approval, or a meow if I need to fix anything. #comingsoon #booksky

Also, someone needs to teach me how to use BlueSky because I haven't been on Twitter in over 10 years and Threads confused me so... What would you say we do around here?

Laying in bed with my cat, who I named Fitzywilliam Darcy. Fitzy for short. Now I walk around wondering if Lizzie ever called Mr. Darcy "Fitzy" behind closed doors. Mr Husband laughingly said I might want to calm down. But it's Pride & Prejudice. Never gonna calm down about that one.

It's a new thing as of last year. I took years of drawing and missed it, then saw what Hanna Sandvig and Ireen Chau were doing. I'm nowhere near as good as them, but I'm having fun!
