You know why they raided her house, and it wasn’t because they actually thought she had something to find.

Three things to do today: 1. Buy a book from an Indigenous author 2. Follow Indigenous creators online 3. Read a real history of Christopher Columbus so you know just what kind of bad dude he really was Happy Indigenous People’s Day, friends Love, Women’s Personal Finance, not WomenSPF

(Other half of WPF here, already in it, I suspect - and since data is showing women with ADHD can start having symptoms years sooner… yeah that tracks).

Can I just say that I am AFRAID for peri. All we learned growing up was that it meant hot flashes and mood swings and then eventually you were done with your period. And That Was It. Reader, I fear that is not all of it.

Don’t let the nihilism win 💚 Believe, and act, like there’s a better future ahead (but don’t passively expect it to happen, either)

Do not become desensitized to the horrors. There are so many on purpose, and they want you to feel hopeless.

You know who I never hear “don’t vote” from? The people I interact with who are REGULARLY involved in making a better world a reality.

If you’re telling people not to vote because voting is pointless / we need to do bigger things: What bigger things have you done this year? The list better be LONG. If not, you need to start back with voting. And then do the damn things after you’ve turned in your ballot.

I am SO TIRED of people trying to say that voting doesn’t matter.

It’s a prime day to remember that the reason you feel like you have to buy that thing on Amazon is because you don’t have a brick and mortar you can get it at anymore… because of Amazon.

Three things to do today: 1. Set up a sinking fund for a future expected expense (think: holidays, vet bills, new tires, etc) and fund it with $10 2. Eat one extra serving of fruit or vegetables 3. Un shrimp yourself! Your back & neck will thank you Love, Women's Personal Finance, not WomenSPF

It’s weird to have an all time net worth high and feel less secure financially than I have in years. The money is there. I just no longer can rely on any idea of what it will get me and for how long.

Hey, ProPublica reporter Jake Pearson here. I’m taking over the account to tell you about my new story. For months, I posed as a problem gambler on DraftKings to test the company's "responsible gaming" safeguards. Spoiler alert: They made me a VIP — and I lost $10K. Here's how it all went down. 🧵

While we’ll never come close to just filling a mason jar full of trash for the month, we do a decent job of the amount of trash we create (which also allows us to pay for the smaller sized garbage can)

Women’s Personal Finance @womenspf.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
5. I was pleased to see that our garbage can was more than half empty yet again when I rolled it out to the street. Not every week, but many weeks, we don’t come anywhere close to filling it.

They do most of their growing in the spring when it’s still rainy, so they require almost no watering or maintenance the rest of the growing season.

4. We still have a few onions in the garden (I planted a whole bed full of Walla Walla sweets) and we added them and some peppers to tacos for dinner one night. They were absolutely delicious, and I’ve found that onions have been a good financial choice when growing them from dried onion sets.

They ended up coming home in time, so we didn’t need to use the new package. And I returned the unopened supplement already! (I am terrible at returns, which is great for not buying unnecessary stuff, bad for the occasional return I have to make)

3. We watched our neighbor’s old dog for about a week, and I had picked up a version of a supplement he takes (our neighbor was out of town caring for an ill relative and I didn’t want to burden them unnecessarily to ask if they had more).

Knowing the season is ending means I’ve really savored the flavors before they’re gone. We really lose something when we don’t eat seasonally.
