Sorry for the upload but he’s back! (Orville, OC)

I think that if you hear “Land Down Under” when you’re at an Outback Steakhouse you should get a prize, kinda like finding a star on your Tootsie Pop wrapper

Oh my god my family went nuclear on me because I defended my trans sibling, who they think besmirched the family name. I’ve vended at furry cons since 2018. Earlier this year my sibling and I vended in the ANE adult den. Across from us was a horse cock as long as my arm and as thick as a coke can

Thanks so much Lina. They disowned my nb sibling and I couldn’t placate them anymore. My only regret is believing that they could l be the people I truly hoped they could be 💔

No matter what you think, being the “good” one, the peaceable one, the one that’s always there and thoughtful and kind and never speaks their feelings to protect others, no matter how much you do to show your love, sometimes your family just ain’t shit and go nuclear over a two minute phone call

Just got disowned! I’m not ok! I can’t stop screaming! I’ll be ok but I’m screaming I’m in such pain

We just finished Jaadugar: a Witch in Mongolia (it’s a fantastic historical drama!!!) and I’m obsessed with the gorgeous dress Mongolian nobles wore in medieval times

To be honest I need to read more of his stuff!! What’s your fave? :3

I remember they included a spider shaman or spirit and I was like, why are you including this in a story set in New England? You…. Clearly don’t see indigenous cultures as diverse and distinct RIP they’re not interchangeable like that

Werewolf Kisser Extraordinaire @wolvesmaw.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

IM SO GLAD YOU AGREE!! It makes me feel not crazy 😭 I think I may have even skipped to the end when she’s doing the revenge and I couldn’t stop rolling my eyes. I mean, honestly, I could’ve read what was in the middle and just forgotten because it wasn’t good LMAO

Werewolf Kisser Extraordinaire @wolvesmaw.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

I ended up disappointed with the anthology because the short stories imo didn’t feel well researched enough to be immersive, but then again, it’s hard to compete with BTF. That monkey brain scene gets absolutely everyone I’ve encouraged to read it

Werewolf Kisser Extraordinaire @wolvesmaw.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

God! Same! Buhlmann did a forward for a book of medieval short stories, legitimately the best part was the forward. He talks about searching through old French records to make sure a bridge the characters cross into Paris was period accurate, you can tell he goes above and beyond historically

Werewolf Kisser Extraordinaire @wolvesmaw.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

My #1 horror recommendation is almost always going to be Between Two Fires. The author has done his research, thoroughly, and the setting isn’t just set dressing, it’s immersive. Gory and unsettling as a fair warning, but one of my favorite books all together

I was really lucky to have taken a college course on the Salem Witch Trials, and very many modern depictions/ retellings are lacking. The VVitch gets it though. Just watch that. Or read indigenous written horror (anything by Steven Graham Jones, Never Whistle at Night, Taaqtumi, etc)

140

Werewolf Kisser Extraordinaire @wolvesmaw.bsky.social · 05/10/2026

The depictions of Native Americans and their beliefs, spirits and culture are stereotypical, at best, and lack a historical, research forward basis. That + the girlboss Puritan feminism revenge porn made it very Not For Me and painful to see recommended so often.

If anyone likes this book I’m sorry, but I feel like as fall cometh, I have to warn everyone away from Slewfoot by Brom. It’s not historically sound or well researched, nor is it’s representation of Indigenous Americans good or fair

I’m always like “I’m not sure if I’m interested in this time period/ art style/ place” when it comes to history and then I get really interested later and regret previous me’s lack of foresight

I just remembered the gorgeous museum book for a Scythian art exhibit I did not buy at the used bookstore. It was in Japanese and I decided not to pick it up, but now I’m like. Damn. It was brand new and was full of interesting pictures

Shoutout to the employees for being kind enough to accommodate me because I was just gonna do without, I was told they couldn’t the other day and wasn’t gonna fuss about it. Guess I must be the only one getting Taco Bell breakfast if they recognized me that fast

Werewolf Kisser Extraordinaire @wolvesmaw.bsky.social · 01/10/2026

I was resigned to Taco Bell no longer letting me add refried beans to the breakfast crunchwrap instead of meat, but this morning when I went though I didn’t even order the beans and I could hear staff on the other end telling the drive thru employee to ask if I wanted beans bc they knew it was me 😭

I should not have to watch a hundred part series on why I haven’t been paid residuals by an indie business in a year and a half 😭 I’ve tried to be real patient and nice but I turned down offers on designs bc I was asked to keep it exclusive cries sobs throws up

Planning to go herping in Kyoto in February, the goal is to see Japanese giant salamanders but it’s a wee bit out of season. I’m so excited though, we may get to see another kind of salamander that’s in breeding season, owls and/ or flying squirrels

Been going through some rough life junk, but also had back to back social engagements and tbh having so many lovely friends in my life makes me feel a little less like combusting into a million little pieces
