A musical evening not to be missed! Exciting young conductor, Dexter Drown, directs our October concert which opens with Sibelius' rousing tone poem, Finlandia 🌊, and the fun-packed Danzón No 2 by Márquez 💃. The highlight of the first half will Britten's Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra 🎻🎺📯🥁 .

Congratulations to Sofiia Usmanova - a joyous performance of Mozart's Piano Concerto No 12 at our concert on Saturday. The talent of this young pianist was dazzling - a stylish sensitive interpretation, and exceptionally charming cadenzas too. Thank you Sofiia! 🎹👏 🔗 www.wolseyorchestra.org

Heartfelt thanks to our marvellous audience for coming to our concert last night – a full house at The Apex in Bury St Edmunds 💘. We loved playing Romeo and Juliet works by Tchaikovsky and Prokofiev for you 🌹, and were delighted to also perform the brilliant ‘Organ’ symphony by Saint-Saëns 🎹.

❤️🎶 Our next concert is a prelude to St Valentine's Day, with Tchaikovsky's Romeo & Juliet Fantasy Overture followed by selected movements from Prokofiev's Romeo & Juliet Suites 1 & 2. Then, as that is not enough tugging of heartstrings, we present Saint-Saëns' mighty third symphony, the 'Organ'.

As Albus Dumbledore himself said - “Ah, music. A magic beyond all we do here!” 🧙‍♂️🎶 Through the enchanting power of live music, immerse yourself in the magic of Harry Potter. At our concert we'll perform a symphonic suite of John William’s well known and endearing themes from the box office smash hit.

Inspired by folklore and traditional puppet theatre, Stravinsky conceived a concert piece for piano and orchestra to tell the tale of Petrushka. Whether you know the character by the name of Petrushka, Punch, Pulcinella, or Polichinelle, he is mischievous and naughty. 🎩🧙‍♂️🎶🎻🎺📯🥁🎹
