What sucks is how common it is, and it's not conscious at all. The brain just registered the dopamine from it, so you never think to question it. I can't remember when exactly I started figuring it out or how. I just now know that when I wanna do something, I need to keep my mouth shut.

I tell someone I'm gonna do something, then never do it cuz I already got that person's reaction or praise.

But of course we got Sony ending physical media, Grand Theft Auto charging $100 for the whole game, Studio after Studio making AAA titles that begin to blur more and more together with their graphics, stories, characters, everything just all becoming more and more of the same and less accessible.

THE CLOSEST I could find to significant coverage for either, was a single article talking about how the main character in Blood West is voiced by Stephan Russell. Famous for voicing literally half of the characters across both The Elder Scrolls and Fallout Games. As well as Corvo in Dishonored.

2 of the games I played during #PSBlackout were Blood West and Gloomwood. These 2 games alone have all the trappings critics would be frothing at the mouth over, open world/sprawling levels, in depth mechanics, RPG elements, stealth the works. Yet little to now coverage or praise by any of them.

And indie games? Fucking forget about it. You need to break Records like Palworld, you need to draw a crowd like Undertale or Hollow Knight for them to even acknowledge you exist and once again, if the devs do not kiss that ring of AAA and Critics, expect them to be ridiculed and panned.

Or look at Rockstar and Take2 who have sent Thugs to people's houses on multiple occasions. If you are a content creator that is not 100% praising everything they put out, even if you have a massive following you are never invited or in some cases barred from even public showcases.

While Games Journalists are now carrying themselves like the lords and king makers, they get to decide a game's reputation regardless of how it actually performs in the eyes of customers. And if a game they hate becomes popular, you're just wrong, you're part of the problem.

I also use uBlock Origin, usually on OperaGX with DuckDuckGo as a back up browser to block both AI, trackers and data gatherers. The amount of blocked tracking attempts from Discord alone reaches over 1k every day...

But like I said earlier during this blackout. Just because the Scheduled Window is ending does not mean the larger boycott is, this was show Sony and the Industry as a whole we CAN organize, we CAN bush back. And it makes me disappointed to see many influencers who supposedly support us, downplay it

And of course, I've been transferring everything possible via cross progression for what games have to, giving less incentive to go back. I know I'm lucky enough to own a PC before everything went to shit, I'm grateful for that as well as the Technician who's been a family friend who got me deals.

All seriousness my PS5 has become more and more just a glorified DVR for the streaming services I already had, I even still have Netflix and still didn't log on for that extended look. Even if I do log back on from time to time I have no desire to buy any further games, DLC or anything on it.
