I hope he'll add something to his response because after all it confused many people This confusion shouldn't lead to what it ended up tho... people are really really angry and it's still just about LACK OF TRANSLATION

It is sadly true - many people won't be able to do it But even thought this is sad - it was never an intention, which is really really important in this situation I would love to see his games officially in my language btw! But if it won't - nah, it's just a game, it's not that deep

Which makes me sad about this drama the most - I thought Toby as an author deserved trust and understanding... but I guess not He really did changed and formed many many hearts, which not makes him sinless god but it is something important no

I can understand where this feeling is coming from, I just think he actually cares a lot. And that's the exact reason he's careful about translations and not just dropping them to shut up people and make em buy your game (not jumping at any author btw, I just think that's a different approach)

I just know too many translations made just to reach for more audiences where message of some things was completely gone since an original author wasn't able to control it

I agree he does have a lot of money, and if would say shit like "sowwwyyy it's costyyyy" I would agree that it's some bullshit But I am as an artist AND AS A PERSON who's not an English native myself can understand his motivation to control text and messages in his game, especially since it's an rpg

I'll correct myself since Japanese translation in fact is a little different, but I mean he wants to change it due to his vision and have an ability to correct translation himself, which IS an artistic choice

1) I think English represents much more groups than 1 2) it's an artistic choice since he wants writing in his game to be controlled by him and not changed. Another side of the coin is "eh, I'll make translation to reach for more audience, even if it'll lose in quality" which is pure capitalism lol

But since when translation became mandatory? It's an artistic choice, there's no need for excuse because it's not that big of a problem. Just... don't buy his game if you want translation Besides that, professional translators often mess up. Like, really often... you're not guaranteed with a result
