Give me a single screenshot from a video game that immediately makes you hear the soundtrack in your head.

The Good Egg Galaxy from Super Mario Galaxy. The first proper level you explore in game

An old meme I made long ago. Every Robot Master from the classic Megs Man series without context. Thinking about updating it to include Mega 11 and Dual Override

Risky Rat wasn't the only one. All the live action Psalty characters were like this

If you wanna talk about video games, I don't think anything from my youth would come close to the horror of first seeing Monster Ock from the 2000 Spider Man game. I basically had to have my brother do the job of beating the level instead

Also don't forget these soon to be greats too

I mean heck we have even seen them doing this sort of thing with the Zelda series. In fact, the OG Zelda was originally going to have you collecting computer chips before traveling to the future. Meanwhile in Breath of the Wild we almost got an alien invasion plot.

Concept art for the Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild depicting aliens invading Hyrule

Concept art for Link from the Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild showing him in a space suit with what is clearly a Metroid by his side

Oh I got a few gaming rage moments I can count off the top of my head.

The dreaded barrel from Carnival Night Act 2 in Sonic the Hedgehog 3. Suddenly forcing the player to learn how to manipulate what has been up to this point a relatively underutilized level gimmick near the end of one of the lengthiest acts in the game is particularly cruel twist.

Clyde's boss fight from Pac Man World 2. The original version not the remake. Brutal patterns and janky collision detection combine to make one of the most infuriatingly difficult boss fights of the early 2000s

Moles the boss of Blizzard Castle from Billy Hatcher and the Giant egg. His fairly simple patterns conceal a surprising difficulty spike for unprepared players.

The Final Final Test Badge Marathon from Super Mario Bros Wonder. After years of people complaining about how Mario has become too easy and casual, Nintendo now decides to remind you of the true meaning of Nintendo hard.

I also appreciate Jonathan for being willing to point out what so many other pundits wont in that the GOP basically bought into their own bullshit and spent too much time sniffing their own farts to recognize the disaster they were setting themselves up for

Notice how generic and bland the tile set here looks and how the Stalfos looks like a generic 90s PC shovelware sprite? And just what the fuck is with the Moblins arm here?

Also I think many pundits are not really accounting for the significant enthusiasm gap right now between Dem and GOP voters which will likely be a major deciding factor in many races. Throwing more money at a race means jack shit if your own voters can't be assed to show up

And speaking of third-party support, ask yourself when was the last time you saw Nintendo getting third party games of this level?

252

wolfgabe.bsky.social @wolfgabe.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

Anyone saying Switch 2 has no games is looking more and more stupider by the month. And this is on top of the fact you also have a solid slate of third party support that Wii U could only dream of.

Here's the OG post hes referring to here. Something funnily ironic about an Iranian Leader now begging the US for protection from his own insane army leaders

Fun idea I had for a Pokemon short that pays homage to the early Looney Tunes shorts of the 1930s. Obligitory Three Stooges cameo with Dodrio

People say Jabu Jabu's Belly in the Ocarina of Time remake looks less disgusting than the original but I would argue the new version is arguably even more gross with how far more realistic and visceral everything looks

Its kinda funny really seeing how the whole internet vibe around Switch 2 right now has shifted from "This system is overpriced and has no games!" to "Hold up let Nintendo cook."
