In any case, the law specifies intention of the _acts_, not the actors. It’s written this way to provision one of the following articles to indemnify the publication of intention, such that it’s also subject to these same laws and punishment. “Intent” doesn’t alter the consequences of genocide.

If you can't admit that, then you have NO BUSINESS being the Democratic candidate in 2028.

Like I had said from the start, your characterization of radical feminism is inaccurate and contrary to the literature. No major iteration of feminists ever saw _men_, not gender as a system, as ontologically criminal, and wouldn’t know what you were referencing if it did. (Aside from the internet.)
component of both. A quotation from a manifesto of New York Radical Feminists illustrates the political position:
Radical feminism recognises the oppression of women as a fundamental political oppression wherein women are categorised as an inferior class based upon their sex. It is the aim of radical feminism to organise politically to destroy this sex class system.
As radical feminists we recognise that we are engaged in a power struggle with men, and that the agent of our suppression is man insofar as he identifies with and carrie out the supremacy privileges of the male role. For while we realize that the liberation of women will ultimately mean the liberation of men from their destructive role as oppressor, we have no illusion that men will welcome this liberation without a struggle...

I have never heard any hope for redemption articulated even once, though. Lesser of two evils, “harm reduction”: this is not hope, it’s apology.
Anyway, look at how desperate people are right now for redemption arcs, so eager and greedy for one to exist they'll overlook nazi tattoos and trashed homeless camps and stochastic terror campaigns and genocide if there's even a chance a redemption is hiding in there somewhere.

Donald J. Trump@realDonaldTrumpBREAKING NEWS: The United States of America has just entered into an Agreement with the Country of Venezuela on, THE BIGGEST OIL DEAL IN WORLD HISTORY! At my direction, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, working closely with Highly Respected Interim President of Venezuela, Delcy Rodriguez, and, through a partnership with private business, have secured majority U.S. control of more than 65 BILLION BARRELS of proven Oil Reserves in Venezuela, at no cost to the American Taxpayer. This Historic Transaction MORE THAN DOUBLES American Oil Reserves, greatly increases our Oil Supply, and will substantially lower Gas Prices for all Americans, long into the future, while helping to continue to set Venezuela on a course toward Tremensous Success and Great Prosperity. This Transaction will greatly strengthen the already growing relationship between Venezuela and the United States! Thank you for your attention to this groundbreaking matter. It is our sacred queer history that the AIDs crisis "wiped out a generation of gay men" as many as 20% were HIV positive at the height of the crisis.

What's ignored is that the rate for trans women suffering and dying from HIV/AIDs was 49x higher. It was actually us that got wiped out. 1/4

Do you see the trick here? How the legitimacy of media re-establishes itself with proclamations like these which operate on the presumption that it had it? Why else would anyone bother pointing out that journalists lie, like that wasn’t commonly known? Why is what “we’re told” even the story at all?

C.L.R. James on the myth of white genocide in Haiti. @moderation.bsky.app
The slaves destroyed tirelessly. Like the peasants in the Jacquerie or the
Luddite wreckers, they were seeking their salvation in the most obvious
way, the destruction of what they knew was the cause of their sufferings;
and if they destroyed much it was because they had suffered much. They
knew that as long as these plantations stood their lot would be to labour on them until they dropped. The only thing was to destroy them. From their masters they had known rape, torture, degradation, and, at the slightest provocation, death. They returned in kind. For two centuries the higher civilization had shown them that power was used for wreaking your will on those whom you controlled. Now that they held power they did as they had been taught. In the frenzy of the first encounters they killed all, yet they spared the priests whom they feared and the surgeons who had been kind to them. They, whose women had undergone countless violations, violated all the women who fell into their hands, often on the bodies of their still bleeding husbands, fathers and brothers. ‘Vengeance! Vengeance!’ was their war-cry, and one of them carried a white child on a pike as a standard. And yet they were surprisingly moderate,
1
then and afterwards, far
more humane than their masters had been or would ever be to them. They
did not maintain this revengeful spirit for long. The cruelties of property
and privilege are always more ferocious than the revenges of poverty and
oppression. For the one aims at perpetuating resented injustice, the other is
merely a momentary passion soon appeased. As the revolution gained
territory they spared many of the men, women, and children whom they
surprised on plantations. To prisoners of war alone they remained
merciless. They tore out their flesh with red-hot pincers, they roasted them
on slow fires, they sawed a carpenter between two of his boards. Yet in all
the records of that time there is no single instance of such fiendish tortures
as burying white men up to the neck and smearing the holes in their faces
to attract insects, or blowing them up with gun-powder, or any of the
thousand and one bestialities to which they had been subjected. Compared
with what their masters had done to them in cold blood, what they did was
negligible, and they were spurred on by the ferocity with which the whites
in Le Cap treated all slave prisoners who fell into their hands.

The word used was “trauma.” Disillusionment with the mythology of America common to EVERY generation is not that, nor really that sympathetic, sorry…
9/11 changed the world irrevocably.
Those of us who were 14-18 at the time experienced that huge societal-level shift just as we were coming into political awareness.
Our first collective generational experience as near-adults was having the exuberant optimism of our youth abruptly ripped away.

Will Stancil @whstancil.bsky.social • 2h
The problem with this idea is that it requires that quality/durability of a product grow exponentially with price.
E.g.: if you pay $5 for a whatsit, it lasts a year. If you pay $10 for a whatsit, it lasts 3 years.

Did bitdizzy get zapped for good. In any case, unfriendly reminder that ball is life:
In his booklet One Step Forward, Two Steps Back he wrote: "I cannot help recalling in this connection a conversation I happened to have at the congress with one of the 'Centre' delegates. How oppressive the atmosphere is at our congress!' he had complained. 'This bitter fighting, this agitation one against the other, this biting controversy, this uncomradely attitude..."What a splendid thing our congress is!' I replied.'A free and open struggle. Opinions have been stated. The shades have been brought out. The groups have taken shape. Hands have been raised. A decision has been taken. A stage has been passed.
Forward! That's the stuff for me! That's life! That's not like the endless, tedious word-chopping of intellectuals which terminates not because the question has been settled, but because they are too tired to talk any more.... The comrade of the 'Centre' had looked at me with a puzzled expression and shrugged his shoulders. We were speaking in different tongues." Here, in this quotation we have the whole of Ilyich.

The notion that human society could be explained by a diagram is precisely the type of Hegelian idealist mysticism Marx and Engels set in diametric opposition to ideas of Feuerbach which he morphed into dialectical and historical materialism. Also not what the chart says nor does it explain anything
"why do —" because material relations shape social relations
"why are —" because social relations reinforce material relations
"why is —" because material relations reinforce social relations
"why —" because social relations shape material relations

this proceeds in a spiral pattern

By far the funniest moment in Homer's Odyssey is when Circe says, "Shall we have sex?" and Odysseus says, "You just turned all my men into pigs. You have the GALL to think I would sleep with you? Of course I will.
Absolutely. But don't do any weird spells"
Pot up your weapon in the sheath. We two shall mingle and make love upon our bed.

'Kirkê, am I a boy,
that you should make me soft and doting now?
Here in this house you turned my men to swine; now it is I myself you hold, enticing into your chamber, to your dangerous bed, to take my manhood when you have me stripped.
I mount no bed of love with you upon it.
Or swear me first a great oath, if I do, you'll work no more enchantment to my harm.'

Here, it’s deployed as the unconscious denial of the existence of male rape (how else could this be read as humorous?), but this doesn’t just damage men. It’s the other necessary component of the Victorian myth of the female as the powerless piece of male property that cast both as lacking volition.

It’s actually not pedantic in the slightest when you recognize that “enchantment” here does NOT mean being sexually allured, but being put under shamanic spell like Odysseus’ men. Not that OP is, but it’s a little terrifying that people are unable to decouple the two.
John Herreid @herreidjohn.bsky.so... • 5h

Dispensing of idealism and the mind-body dualism consequent of it was one of the first things Marx ever did. The entire point of noting that ideas have a physical existence is to underline that material conditions are the genesis of consciousness, not vice versa.
In studying such transformations it is always necessary to distinguish between the material transformation of the economic conditions of production, which can be determined with the precision of natural science, and the legal, political, religious, artistic or philosophic - in short, ideological forms in which men become conscious of this conflict and fight it out. Just as one does not judge an individual by what he thinks about himself, so one cannot judge such a period of transformation by its consciousness, but, on the contrary, this consciousness must be explained from the contradictions of material life, from the conflict existing between the social forces of production and the relations of production. No social order is ever destroyed before all the productive forces for which it is sufficient have been developed, and new superior relations of production never replace older ones before the material conditions for their existence have matured within the framework of the old society.

Working in the legislature means working with a broad coalition of people.
Representative Frank Hornstein knew how to build bridges and work with people to get things done for "all* Minnesotans.
At a time like this, where tensions across the country are high and MAGA Republicans are using violent rhetoric, our district can't afford a Representative who will risk our hard work by using language that will distract and divide, driving us further apart and further away from the solutions we Minnesotans need.
MN61A needs leadership, not Will Stancil. Vote August 13.
