Go back and listen to 9 to 5 again. Pretty clear. She never really hid it.

Your website literally has a section about trans women...

I don't think men would be happy about it, because there's a lot of fragile masculinity out there and being beaten by a woman would fracture many of these dudes, but the point about physical differences does hold water to some extent, which is why women's leagues exist to start with.

This isn't an argument against trans kids playing sports, though. Trans kids in sports is not now and never has been a real problem.

For future information, the MLB, NBA, NFL and NHL are all open leagues. Women are allowed to play in them if they choose.

Are you suggesting that women's sports leagues should be abolished in this thread? I feel like that would be a pretty huge mistake.

There certainly should be more than one, but calling out genocide should absolutely be one of the criteria.

You're delusional if you think Collins is losing after the ME Dems pick a candidate by fiat and hope for the best.

There are checks, but they're far from fool proof, and one person can generate a ton of fraudulent applications, and some of those do get through the cracks. Go ask anyone in your admissions department how many fraudulent applications they get. It's a lot.

wobthebuilder.bsky.social @wobthebuilder.bsky.social · 18/05/2026
Colleges try to verify, but fraud cases definitely slip through the cracks, especially at smaller schools. It takes a lot of work to verify every student.

It does have to do with loans, because getting accepted to a school is how you apply for aid. They aren't just doing it for fun. They're doing it because some percentage of the time, it works. How much does that cost the taxpayer? Who knows, but it's still a problem.

Go talk to literally anyone in college admissions for online programs. These fraud cases happen all the time. My wife was just showing me a case where they had 50 people applying within the last couple years to their school from the same 2 bedroom apartment in a nearby city.

A lot of people in this thread are failing to understand that online education is a thing...

You have to pay it back if it's in your name, but if you steal someone's identity, they're on the hook for it, not you.

My wife works for a school that offers a lot of online classes, and they get fraud students all the time, and yeah, they're trained to spot fake students, but it's still a bunch of humans that fuck up sometimes. The FAFSA fraud thing is a real issue when it comes to online enrollment.

Legal sports betting is fine. We just shouldn't allow advertising about sports betting.

This is an insane take. Political violence has permeated the political landscape of this country since its inception. Just because you only recognize certain forms of political violence doesn't mean the rest of it never happened.

I found out about the shooting on here because someone posted the video here. They still weren't reporting on his condition, but it was immediately obvious if you watched it.

I can't think of anything that matters less than splitting hairs over where the line is for "working class". Do you work for a living? You're a worker and should be looking out for other workers. This isn't hard.

Consumer electronics, medical devices, defense, DC power systems, ASIC's, FPGA's, industrial machines, RF, you know. The vast majority of EE work. It's only construction and large scale power distribution that need it. For anything else, it's not worth paying the licensing fees.
000
wobthebuilder.bsky.social @wobthebuilder.bsky.social · 03/09/2025
I've been an EE for 12 years, and neither me nor any of the EE's I've worked with in that time have had a license.
200
wobthebuilder.bsky.social @wobthebuilder.bsky.social · 02/09/2025
Depends on the kind of EE work. PE licensing is a waste of time for most things.

wobthebuilder.bsky.social @wobthebuilder.bsky.social · 02/09/2025
The only thing you really need to know as an EE: It's always software's fault.

There are, unfortunately, very few union jobs in engineering. Probably easier to find a job at a cooperative than one with a union.

With the NLRB under attack, it's time for the labor movement to realize that the way to win real power in the workplace is through direct action, not reliance on government. A concerted effort by workers to fundamentally change the power balance will always be more stable than government protection

First, Marx, Engels and Lenin all talked about the state becoming obsolete under communism. Who are you reading that is saying the opposite? Second, anarchism and communism aren't mutually exclusive. Read some Kropotkin.
010
wobthebuilder.bsky.social @wobthebuilder.bsky.social · 25/08/2025
Neither of these things are true. Communism is a subset of socialist thought in which the state, class, and money are abolished.

Sure, but the post was lumping US and EU together, so I went with that. The real moral of the story is that the US is uniquely bad on this front.
000
wobthebuilder.bsky.social @wobthebuilder.bsky.social · 21/08/2025
They also have double the population of the US + Europe, so they're already way better per capita.

Unfortunately, none of this is against the constitution. I think a lot of people don't realize how shit of a document the constitution is.

Some people can't afford not to show up to work or avoid shopping on a given day, and a well organized strike will provide for those people in a meaningful way. None of that infrastructure was put in place. So this is going to be meaningless.
010
wobthebuilder.bsky.social @wobthebuilder.bsky.social · 09/08/2025
That's because simply posting stuff like this online is the absolute worst way to organize a strike. You need on the ground organizing, you need workplace organizing, you need orgs who are capable of motivating people involved, and most importantly, you need to provide alternatives.

wobthebuilder.bsky.social @wobthebuilder.bsky.social · 08/07/2025
It definitely isn't. It's all basically just an ACA style handout to private corps to pretend to fix the things they broke in the first place.

Some of it I even agree with, like we definitely should get rid of regulations only allowing for single family homes and barring mixed use between commercial and residential. The majority of it is just trying to hand over government money to capitalist developers and getting rid of safety regulation

Essentially, he wants to couple massive government investment in green energy and other vaguely progressive things with deregulation of housing development and end stipulations on government contracts that say they should try to use women-owned or black-owned businesses first.

Closer to 5 million than 14 million. I haven't seen any estimates anywhere near 14 million.

It's shouldn't be the beginning, though. The beginning should be actually building an organization, creating the necessary infrastructure, and unionizing people. I get that making an image and sharing it around is easier than actual organizing, but it's less than useless.

wobthebuilder.bsky.social @wobthebuilder.bsky.social · 27/05/2025
General Strikes are a fantastic tool, but they require organization. You can't just say "Hey we're going to strike this day" and expect it to go anywhere. You need to work with and form unions ahead of time, you need to make sure mutual aid is in place for when people get fired. It's not a switch.

I think the best evidence of improved material conditions would be comparing Zapatista-controlled areas of Chiapas to the rest of chiapas, since it removes a lot of the confounding factors, but I don't have that data, unfortunately.

I think it's kind of an interesting question. Because the primary anarchist projects I'm aware of, Revolutionary Catalonia, Malhnovist Ukraine, Zapatistas, and Rojava all were born out of various civil wars, so data on quality of life is a little tricky to come by.

I've said for a long time - The switch from Pensions to 401k's was all a ruse to convince people to give a shit about the system that makes rich people richer. The only reason I care about stocks at all is because it's the only way I can escape this capitalist hell.
