Representation is moving in the right direction, but progress remains slow and uneven. Women now hold approximately 39% of board seats, while people of color hold about one-quarter. Both have increased since 2022, but there is still more work to do. Read the report - whosonboard.org

One of the clearest findings in “Who’s On Board?” is about what we couldn’t see. More than half of the institutions studied did not provide, confirm or correct demographic data, raising new questions about transparency and accountability in board governance. #WhosOnBoard #BoardGovernance #Transparency

“Governance is not a spectator sport.” Higher ed boards that function as strategically-formed teams with diverse skills and life experiences are equipped to champion mission and values in service of stakeholders. Having the right players is key to governance excellence. www.aacu.org/newsroom/a-c...

Board composition, transparency, and accountability to stakeholders matters to the future of higher ed. Inclusive boards of trustees have the intellectual dexterity and structural muscle to make insightful, valued-based decisions that serve missions in harmony with the needs of the stakeholders.
