WNFC Mondays at Burlington Beer Company are being canceled until further notice. We appreciate your support and attendance, and we will continue to keep you in the loop should anything change. Thank you, Vermont FGC.

We’re kicking until 10pm, but I believe the kitchen is closing ordering service at 7pm. If you need dinner after work, let us know *in advance* and we’ll find a way to get you fed. ❤️

Vermont, time to get social. Come out and play.

Steam uses something called Steam Input. It translates pretty much every controller type into Xinput.

The phoenix’s nest is beginning to smolder. The egg that was tucked away is rattling from within. This bird rises once again next Monday, 11/17. If you’re in the Burlington, Vermont area, you should absolutely show up. Big things are happening.

Hey, Vermont. Particularly the Burlington area. Next Monday, 11/17. You should show up. It’s gonna be a fun time. And every two weeks, we’ll be doing it all over again. Don’t sleep on this.

Last chance (for now) was this past Wednesday night. We’re currently in the process of breaking everything down and putting it all into storage (or selling it off) until we find another permanent venue.

The WNFC dojo was one of the most wonderful places to see come to be and as such a sad thing to see go. That said? What a wonderful swan song for it, couldn’t of asked for better. Here’s to the future of WNFC and the Vermont FGC

In a space that can comfortably hold 18-20, we had 34 people tonight. Standing room only. Every station packed. Every A/C unit taxed. What a way to end an era.

On behalf of everyone involved with WNFC, @wnfcdojo.bsky.social, the Vermont FGC, the wider FGC, and everyone who supported us in any way possible, thank you. Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for powering this experiment. We are not finished. Nowhere near close to it. #btv #vermont #fgc

Wednesday Night Fight Club @wnfc.bsky.social · 16/06/2025

Because we’ve been doing something much different than every other fighting game community scene, not just nationwide, but *worldwide.* We initiated an experiment that yielded genuinely beautiful results, something that the world could certainly use more of, especially right now.

180

Wednesday Night Fight Club @wnfc.bsky.social · 16/06/2025

As such, WNFC and @wnfcdojo.bsky.social will be going into low-power mode for the next few months or so, and during that time, we’ll be restructuring precisely what it is we offer, how it is we can offer it, and what it is we can continue doing to best support the community we’ve built.

170

Wednesday Night Fight Club @wnfc.bsky.social · 16/06/2025

And if we couldn’t provide a substantially better value for families and attendees than every other option available in the local area, the prevailing wisdom was to not abandon our core ethos to stay alive in our current form. We decided to do what all fighting game players do: adapt.

170

Wednesday Night Fight Club @wnfc.bsky.social · 16/06/2025

We found ourselves facing a dilemma: do we raise prices on everything and diminish the value we presented compared to other activities and programs in the area (as we were cheaper overall than just about every local afterschool program and extracurricular activity), or do we close our doors?

170

Wednesday Night Fight Club @wnfc.bsky.social · 16/06/2025

Sadly, we’re subject to the same whims of fate everything else is, and with the costs of everything rising, our revolutionary little project has found itself priced out of existence. Unfortunately, we can’t continue to provide the programs we have at the low price points we’ve maintained.

170

Wednesday Night Fight Club @wnfc.bsky.social · 16/06/2025

We accomplished so much in so little time, & we’re proud to have had the feedback of parents & caregivers that have expressed how we’ve changed their kids’ lives for the better. Our adult community has also been fiercely supportive and dedicated to furthering our cause of an inclusive space for all.

190

Wednesday Night Fight Club @wnfc.bsky.social · 16/06/2025

For the last 2.5 years, we’ve been the primary focal point for the VT FGC, & the dojo has not only been a weekly locals venue, but a daily afterschool program built to teach kids how to tolerate adversity, how to problem solve through setbacks & failures, positive interaction with others, & more.

Wednesday Night Fight Club @wnfc.bsky.social · 16/06/2025

If you’re living in or near the Chittenden County / Burlington area of Vermont, and you enjoy fighting games (or video game history), then this Wednesday night is YOUR LAST CHANCE to experience one of the largest repositories of fighting game history on the planet. @wnfcdojo.bsky.social is closing.

Parrying is only good when it: 1.) Requires tight (not impossible) timing 2.) Is simple enough for anyone to use without significant difficulty 3.) Is strong, but not all-powerful 4.) Offers obvious benefit, but disadvantageous if used incorrectly Which is why Guard Impact remains the 🐐

Wednesday Night Fight Club @wnfc.bsky.social · 28/05/2025

Can’t help but feel this take is a massive misread focused solely through the lens of entirely subjective bias.

Wednesday Night Fight Club @wnfc.bsky.social · 27/05/2025

Please stop blaming a Korean-American creator for things Japanese fighting game developers choose to do, design or implement. It smacks of looking for something easy to blame, and if you knew the Japanese developer mindset, you’d know that by and large, they don’t give a damn what westerners think.

how is anyone safe on @bsky.app when convicted and registered sexual abusers can use the reporting system against non-problematic people they were using the platform to harass?

010

Wednesday Night Fight Club @wnfc.bsky.social · 27/05/2025

@moderation.bsky.app @safety.bsky.app still no word on why one of the most positive forces on fighting game bsky got suspended for *BEING HARASSED* by a literal sexual predator @yeetkunedo.bsky.social had his ability to report disabled on the backend and then had the system used against him

The funniest thing about being a soccer guy is seeing this and then noting that all the reactions are from fighting game players due to his recent cameo in an SNK game Which is also a sign of how washed he is

0167

Wednesday Night Fight Club @wnfc.bsky.social · 26/05/2025

Hot take perhaps, but any future CvS3 should stay somewhat more grounded, because while that would cause the game to be somewhat less dynamic in roster options, it allows for VS games to maintain their own unique identity instead of homogenizing the “Capcom versus” franchise into a single flavor.

010

Wednesday Night Fight Club @wnfc.bsky.social · 25/05/2025

and THAT’S who’s getting suspended, not the guy who’s a convicted sexual predator against *minors* @bsky.app @safety.bsky.app @moderation.bsky.app Explain yourselves.

040

Wednesday Night Fight Club @wnfc.bsky.social · 25/05/2025

@yeetkunedo.bsky.social got suspended for being harassed by him, and he wasn’t even able to report him, because every attempt gave a “sorry, this isn’t available right now” message. Mind you, this is a guy that has spent the last few years being a genuine force for good

131

Wednesday Night Fight Club @wnfc.bsky.social · 25/05/2025

@bsky.app why does your safety policy stop people from reporting harassment in the backend at all, why disable someone’s ability to call for moderators why does @moderation.bsky.app suspend people being harassed by literal sexual predators but do nothing about the predators

030

Wednesday Night Fight Club @wnfc.bsky.social · 25/05/2025

anyone who follows @yeetkunedo.bsky.social needs to be made aware of this, because bluesky stopped his ability to call for moderation assistance and subsequently did nothing to stop a sexual predator from harassing people, and even let their account stand while punishing the person being harassed
