Went to a Liberal rally tonight. Heard prime minister Carney speak. He is very human and funny in his stump speech. The last liberal rally I attended was for Pierre Elliot Trudeau. Kinda dates me. I’ve mostly voted NDP in the interim but not this time. #elbowsup.

@proudlycanadiantoques is a great fundraiser that the Toronto Star has. Profits support over 1200 food banks through Feed Ontario. Loving this cosy expression of my love for Canada. starstore.ca/products/pro...

Just heard Cdn writer Louise Penny interviewed on #CBC radio. She has cancelled her book tour to the US in response to the unprecedented attack by the US on our sovereignty. Bravo! I bought her book - you should too!

This is not going to go down well in The Hammer. Cleveland-Cliffs must be scared sh*tless of Tr*mp or they have absolutely no regard for their employees. Or both. “Elbows up” Steeltown and Nanticoke.

Good news message for today - science is still being done by the European Space Agency! Their space telescope Euclid detected a rare Einstein ring. I encourage all to read the article and support The Guardian. I don’t know how science will get done in the U.S. going forward.

Doggy found this on our walk today - oh joy - rolled in it and started to chew it. Fox skull? Any naturalists care to wade in?

Complete indifference of dog to us madly chasing a wee, very stupid mouse around our house the morning. Gotta love #countryliving

I was active in the Canadian Peace movement in the 1980s. I literally couldn’t sleep for fear of my kids dying in a nuclear holocaust. Got involved. It all seems for nothing. Who will do what we did in the 1980s? Shout out to Project Ploughshares - church based but welcomed an atheist like me.

Enjoying this book - Can’t help but feel we are at some inflection point like the fall of the Soviet Union - we just can’t see it. Is the American democratic experiment (and a lot of the world) now at the point where little pebbles are falling down the mountain into this avalanche coming?

My grandson, born and raised in Saskatchewan, is spending his first winter in Ontario at Uni. His friends don’t believe him about the weather out there. I sent him this pic this morning to show them. It is minus 27 C in his home town - but it’s a dry cold lol.

Okay - so seriously - I got this book out of the library - it was in the new book section. But I swear it was before the election. I now know how to make a solar still. Still reading. Seems like a good idea.

Deactivated my X account. Not going to serve that troll’s interests anymore. Bonus pic of my pooch investigating Halloween decorations. Am slowly figuring out @bsky.app. Finding lists so so helpful. Thank you to all who are making these follow lists.

This is my dad who fought Nazis. This is my Member of Parliament who has dinner with a Neo-Nazi Christine Anderson. Then she goes to the Cenotaph and lays a wreath on Remembrance Day last year. I could barely contain my rage. #cdnpoli
