iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

We never know how much time we have, so it's important to make the most of every moment. Live your best life. Make moments and make memories. Leave a legacy. And while you're doing all of that, make sure you let those around you know what they mean before that time runs out.

I hope that, whenever MY time comes, there are those of you out there to whom I've made some sort of difference. I hope I've given you stories to remember. stories to share, and experiences that will live on. And yes, I hope that I continue to do so LONG into the future.

Right now, I just want to take a second to say that I know in my life I've been far from perfect. I've made plenty of mistakes and I haven't always been the best person. But I always try to make sure the good outweighs the bad.

So many of you have inspired me, impressed me, looked out for me, and generally helped to make me all the better for having you in my life.

There are so many people that have made an impact and influence on me in my life. If I took the time to try list them out, this post would never end. I'm hoping some of you reading this now already know who you are and what you mean.

There's been a lot going on in the world and we've recently lost a lot of wonderful people. It's gotten me thinking, probably a lot more than I should,. about how much time we have and the difference we make in the lives of those around us.

Flash forward to now, when I realize that the official G.I. Joe Classified D.I.R.E. Tech logo, debuting on the upcoming D.I.R.E. Hawk figure, is a skull with tentacles. Very cool coincidence and I love that it makes my custom vehicle even more fitting.

I just noticed this little bit of prophetic happenstance. Nearly two months ago, I 3D printed a #GIJoeClassified scale Swampmasher with a D.I.R.E Tech theme. As a part of it, I made glow-in-the-dark missiles with warheads that depicted skulls with tentacles.

Huzzah! I managed to get my hands on a couple of the #Walmart exclusive #Hasbro #gijoeclassified D.I.R.E. Hawk figures, further expanding my complete D.I.R.E. Tech sub-collection. Woot!

Well fuck. This was a shock to see this morning. @shanembailey.com and I were just watching All Out on Saturday and talking about him. Amazing amount of talent and gone way way too soon. #aew @allelitewrestling.com www.bbc.com/news/article...

Wrestler Benjamin Satterley, known as 'Pac', dies aged 40

His death was confirmed just a day after he participated in an AEW match in Chicago.

Something particularly special on this list for me is The Incredible Hulk : Ultimate Destruction. If not for that game (and my coverage of it), I never would have met two people that have since become, what I consider, great friends: @egoodchild.bsky.social and @pauljenkins.bsky.social

I've got the physical copy of Legends II, digital for Alliance and Alliance 2, and I still play them all the time when I need my OG comic gaming fix.

000

Also, I STILL have my copy of the game, in pristine condition, so that whenever anyone wants to try and tell me "It couldn't be THAT bad, right?" I get to respond, "See for yourself!".

000

I'm being kind by saying "ONE of the worst". Funny side note, not long after that review went live, I was brought up to meet McFarlane at ComicCon. He wasn't thrilled when he realized which review I wrote and told me as much. I responded if it had been a better game, I wouldn't have been so harsh.

100

I want to also point out that NO ONE should suffer through even attempting to play McFarlane's Evil Prophecy, which to this day, ranks as one of the worst games I've ever had to play. In my review, I actually said the only thing evil about it is someone somewhere actually paid money for it.

100

I love Ultimate Alliance. As a comic fan, it felt near perfect. But I'll go a step further ... I still love X-Men Legends, which have birth to Ultimate Alliance. Hell, I still have X-Men Legends II for the OG Xbox on my bookcase.

For the record, this isn't a list of my "9 Favorite Games". These are each games that made a noticeable impact on my life. For example, the first Monster Hunter on the PS2 was my first published professional video game review for GameSpy.

David Chapman @wldcard.bsky.social · 25/09/2026

Earlier, @shanembailey.com posted his list of "The 9 Games That Made Me". Tonight, he asked me what mine would be. I'm sure if you asked me another time, I'd have different answers, but these are the ones right now that "Made Me" for one reason or another.

To celebrate #NationalComicBookDay, why not share some of YOUR favorite comic book series, characters, stories, or memories?

This looks like it's going to be right up my alley. Already on my "Must Watch" list.

Why can't we disqualify on the grounds of an overabundance of sheer stupidity?

David Chapman @wldcard.bsky.social · 09/09/2026

It's done. The #ColdSlither #GIJoeClassified diorama is complete. I'm not a pro and not a photographer, but I hope you all enjoy these shots. Even tossing in a copy of the @skybound.bsky.social Cold Slither one-shot for good measure. Now ... WHAT DO I DO WITH IT? #gijoe #hasbro

Still working on getting everything together, but I finally cracked open the #GIJoeClassified #ColdSlither #SDCC set to get them into this new home. This is NOT final by any means, but I'm so effin' happy with how it looks. #hasbro #gijoe #reigningphoenixmusic

WIP. Making a set to display my #gijoeclassified SDCC Cold Slither figures. Wanting to give it a sort of Empire Records vibe, with the band playing at a record shop debuting their album/tour. Going to add posters and such, as well decorate the doors of the terrarium like front doors to the shop.

Damn it. Dolly Parton has passed away. The world has lost someone great and is a sadder and dimmer place for it.

Harlan Ellison - Pay the Writer

It's not the first time I've referenced/reposted this, and it likely won't be the last. Either way, this video of Harlan Ellison will never not be appropriate to remind people to value their work: youtu.be/PuLr9HG2ASs?...

I hate they own so many outlets. It feels nearly impossible to find a role in this field NOT tied to them. But hell, I'd rather write and produce my own content, unpaid, be positive and informative, and be able to look myself in the mirror each day, than to sell my soul at less than market rate.

It was a clusterf-ck all the way around. Just one example was when I started to poke holes in their pay structure (basically a terrible and ill defined pay per click method) during the interview. They tried telling me we could negotiate it AFTER I signed with them.
