I've used LibraryThing for 20 years. I don't bother with any of the social features - just add books as I read them and maybe throw some tags in if I feel like it. I find it less intrusive than Goodreads

When I was a teenager I grabbed a banana to take with my lunch one morning and it was the worst tasting banana I'd ever had. Later my sister got mad at me for taking the plantain she was planning to make something with (I forget exactly what)

I managed to get to two or three signings in Boston - absolute highlight for me and he was exactly how you'd expect him to be. His handler was annoyed that I brought UK editions to be signed because that meant I wasn't helping his US sales numbers
