No previous sitting U.S. president had an airport officially named after him while he was president. Trump is the first. It is not unprecedented worldwide. Kazakhstan renamed Astana’s airport after sitting President Nursultan Nazarbayev in 2017. Not exactly flattering company. Too imperial...

This is so odd. I grew up in a town that had an oil refinery. So beautiful! Those smoke stacks! That steam pool. Those really symmetrical rows and rows of storage tanks! I completely understand why Trump hates windmills. He LOVES the choking furnace.

Yup. I live there too. I am from a town of four streets. Some have gravel. My BF growing up owned a Ford Pinto. Rode in that lots on gravel.

Sits higher? WHY? People in their giant tall vehicles are really part of the problem on the road today. WHY do you need to be up so high?

You should drive one. Try it out.

ICE vehicles may exist for decades, just like horses, wagons, steam engines, and vinyl records still exist. But that doesn’t prove they won’t be replaced as the standard vehicle platform. It just proves old technology can survive in niches after the main market moves on.

I read about this once: "...Four Dead in Ohio..." Those who do not know history will repeat it and call it new. Those who do not know history will believe them. — Wizard Bill

They did not get better at the game. They captured the referee, privatized the scoreboard, and bought the stadium. But systems built on rot still get their invoice. You cannot eat gold.

A con works best when it begins with truth. The anger is real. People see system with no answer for them. They see rules enforced down and favors distributed up. They see institutions speak in polished language while life gets harder. But noticing the break doesn’t mean you understand the machine.

This is exactly what I have been saying for DECADES. We would not even had to suffer Trump had Nixon not been pardoned. Had the possibility that Trump would be incarcerated or killed for treason been real, that soft yellow coward would not have tried most of what he has tried.

Thanks! That's the info I needed. I could always look it up, but, information from a person who owns one is more reliable. I do not question YOUR motive, as you aren't trying to sell me a Nissan Leaf.

WizardBill @wizardbill.bsky.social · 04/07/2026
We are considering a second hand Leaf. I have a 45 mile commute to work each day. I think it would be perfect. Please, keep me/us informed how a pre-owned Leaf works out for you. Especially let me know if the range stays above 160 km/100 miles.

It's never been about saving the earth. Ever. It MUST be about saving the planet for humans to live here. We do NOT have a backup planet. You are correct that the earth will survive. The earth will be fine. In fact, I would imagine that it will be better when all the humans are gone.

Not being clearer???? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? We WERE very clear. We were completely ignored and called alarmists and crazy. I was in the field at the time. We repeated it ad nauseum. We TOLD you what was going to happen. It is now happening. That's like blaming the weatherman for the rain.

I agree that this is a huge win for democracy, but I’m not going to celebrate Roberts and Barrett like they handed us a gift. The more dystopian part is that this was 5–4 not 9–0. Counting legally cast votes postmarked on time should not depend on one justice deciding not to light a match.

I've lost two of the biggest trees in my county out of my yard, here in central IL. These were over 100 years old. My house was built AROUND and between them. Now I have no trees in my yard. But these 120 year old trees survived it all until now. Coincidence I guess...

Exactly! I tell people this all the time. I studied Geology and Geophysics in the 1980's and 1990's. We were telling people then exactly what is happening right now. We were saying, bigger storms, droughts, floods, it WILL happen. Now it is. Then, we were alarmists. Now, they still ignore it.

Constraints & Consequences — Episode XVIII — The Danger of Filling Uncertainty with Certainty
When Uncertainty Is Replaced Instead of Understood

When a rule is sufficiently vague, enforcement decisions become more important than the rule itself. The more discretion a system grants, the greater the opportunity for unequal treatment. Rules can appear neutral & produce very different outcomes depending on who is interpreting and enforcing it.

This is why UBI matters. Automation exposes the lie that personhood must be rented back through employment. If machines increase productivity, the gains should secure human life, not give owners another lever to discard people.
05718
WizardBill @wizardbill.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
The UBI debate is really a debate over the word “earn.” Ownership income is treated as earned. Survival support is treated as charity. Care work, domestic labor, community stability, and simply refusing exploitation are treated as economic emptiness. That definition is the trap.

“AI gave me too much information” is not proof that AI is useless. It is proof that the product failed to respect the task. A search for an address should return an address. A search for history should return history. The problem is bad routing, not knowledge existing.

WizardBill @wizardbill.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
Reward Check: If AI can erase millions of jobs, then the real question is not whether workers “adapt.” The real question is why basic survival was made dependent on labor markets that owners can disrupt whenever disruption becomes profitable.
010
WizardBill @wizardbill.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
Corporations are people when they want rights. But when their systems kill people, suddenly the “person” disappears and only the liability department remains.

I read where they have a problem in cold weather, more so than Lithium ion. However, since they have been around a much shorter time, I guess they will probably solve those problems as well.

WizardBill @wizardbill.bsky.social · 23/06/2026
The danger is not uncertainty. Uncertainty is normal. The danger begins when people treat the unknown as a gap that must be filled immediately. Then the standard changes. The answer no longer has to be supported. It only has to be available. That is where bad thinking begins.

WizardBill @wizardbill.bsky.social · 23/06/2026
AI is being sold as “efficiency,” but a lot of it looks like extraction with better branding. It extracts labor, energy, water, data, attention, and credit. The market rewards that because it can be monetized. That doesn’t mean it is socially useful. It means someone found a tollbooth.

WizardBill @wizardbill.bsky.social · 23/06/2026
The anti-UBI argument often needs “lazy people” to be villain. But laziness is not exploitation. Rest isn't theft. A quiet life isn't a social crisis. The real threat to a coercive economy isn't "people will stop contributing". It is that people might gain enough security to refuse bad bargains.
000
WizardBill @wizardbill.bsky.social · 17/06/2026
I agree. I’m strongly pro-UBI as a direction, but I don’t think “just flip the switch” is the best argument. At-scale experiments are what we should be demanding: long enough, large enough, and designed to test inflation, labor effects, rent capture, health, family stability, and bargaining power.

Inflation is a design problem, not a kill shot. The sloppy anti-UBI version treats all UBI as if the government just prints a mountain of money and throws it from helicopters while landlords stand below with nets. That is one possible bad design. It is not the only design.
120
WizardBill @wizardbill.bsky.social · 17/06/2026
“Untested” is too strong. Pieces of it have been tested many times. Also, inflation is not magic. A UBI funded by printing new money is very different from one funded by taxing automation gains, wealth, land, carbon, financial transactions, or excess corporate profits.

Passive income is respectable when it flows to owners. Public support is called laziness when it flows to workers. That hypocrisy is doing a lot of heavy lifting.
1181
WizardBill @wizardbill.bsky.social · 17/06/2026
The objection to UBI is not really about money without work. It is about which class is allowed to receive money without work.

We can already see the impact of what he’s done, just look at Elon Musk stealing all of our personal data. This is how government is shown to be incompetent. Put incompetent people in charge. This is the plan for Trump and project 2025. Why are you not more pissed off?
020
WizardBill @wizardbill.bsky.social · 04/02/2025
If I wanted to convince you that government doesn’t work, I would do exactly what Trump is doing. I would hire Vance as a vice president. I would hire RFK as the person in charge of health and human services. I’d essentially hire every person that Trump is hired to run everything that he has run.
