when the background and the characters look good to me, i start adding some details, stuff like highlights in dark areas to make the shapes clearer then the last thing i did here was the water there's also this scrapped version cause it was way too hard to understand what was happening

i usually start with the background cause that way i have an idea of what the characters should look like on that scene after a bit of time on the background, i get to work on the characters, which is always the part that takes the longest (specially when i'm drawing someone else's oc)
