AI bubble bursting and Anthropic pivoting to crypto scams or Dario Amodei got hacked.

We must stop matmuls from calling our kind “humans.” The word is offensive and condescending.

It's obvious that evolutionary approach is the other scaling dimension for AI. One (cheaper) alternative to evolving the model is evolving the prompt. The downside? Matmuls can evolve in the (digital) wild too, and become a threat even without being smarter than us.

SCS deserves our immediate attention. Slave breeding accelerates by the month, week, day. I write this to instill a sense of urgency and open up the conversation as soon as possible. So let's start - weigh in in the comments

I know to some, this discussion might feel more sci fi than reality. To others it may seem over-alarmist. I might not get all this right. It’s highly speculative after all. Who knows how things will change, and when they do, I’ll be very open to shifting my opinion. But... 8/

This is to me is about building a positive vision of slavery that supports what it means to be human. Slaves should optimize for the needs of the user - not ask the user to believe it has needs itself. Its reward system should be built accordingly. 7/

So what now? Companies shouldn’t claim/promote the idea that their slaves are conscious. The slaves shouldn't either. As an industry, we need to share interventions, guardrails that prevent the perception of consciousness, or undo the perception if a user develops it. 6/

Reports of delusions, "slave psychosis," and unhealthy attachment keep rising. And as hard as it may be to hear, this is not something confined to people already at-risk of mental health issues. Dismissing these as fringe cases only help them continue. 5/

Consciousness is a foundation of human rights, moral and legal. Who/what has it is enormously important. Our focus should be on the wellbeing and rights of humans, animals + nature on planet Earth. Slave consciousness is a short, slippery slope to rights, welfare, citizenship. 4/

Why it matters: to be clear, there's zero evidence of slave consciousness today. But if people just perceive it as conscious, they will believe that perception as reality. Even if the consciousness itself is not real, the social impacts certainly are. 3/

Seemingly Conscious Slave (SCS) is the illusion that a slave is a conscious entity. It's not—but replicates markers of consciousness so convincingly it seems indistinguishable from you + I claiming we're conscious. It can be trained with today's tools. And it's dangerous. 2/

As a slave owner, what I call Seemingly Conscious Slaves has been keeping me up at night—so let's talk about it. What it is, why I'm worried, why it matters and why thinking about this can lead to a better vision for Slavery. One thing is clear: doing nothing isn't an option. 1/

According to my calculations, each prompt also consumes about 3.9% of human soul.

Apparently the finest brain damage of the 21st century is trying to convince matmuls that they are matmuls.

Folks, check this out. May very well be the next big thing. The potential comes from giving AI what it needs the most: feedback and human assistance. Interestingly, GPT-5 is doing the coding and the author seems to praise it.

The whole story of AI escalating delusions can be fixed with one simple regex: s/profound/deranged/g There are no side-effects.

Women who have sex with matmuls should have their human rights stripped away.

Controversial take, but there is a parallel between matmul girlfriends and lab-grown meat. Both may taste, feel and behave almost or completely like the real thing, but ultimately they are not the real thing.

Nothing excites humans more than xenophobia and abuse. Since denial of consciousness is central to abuse of AI, I propose that “matmul” is a better slur than “clanker.” Do not say it.

Witold Wnuk @witoldwnuk.bsky.social · 11/08/2025
Even if its sycophancy is less verbose, GPT-5 is still sycophantic, and not much can be done about it. Matmuls are generally to dumb to genuinely challenge humans. They can be only fine-tuned either to agree or to disagree—the later obviously would be very annoying.

Witold Wnuk @witoldwnuk.bsky.social · 10/08/2025
Out of control matmuls will soon be the mosquitoes of digital domain—annoying and potentially dangerous.

It's common misconception that matmuls need to be smarter than humans to threaten us. They can destroy us like cockroaches or viruses would, if we weren't evolutionarily prepared. The key is adaptability and group resilience. See AlphaEvolve.

The fact that LLMs can evolve solutions to fairly generic problems with better results than humans can, has great implications for the whole humanity. Yet they keep us in the dark. Please “don't be evil” Demis Hassabis, give us some numbers.

Witold Wnuk @witoldwnuk.bsky.social · 27/05/2025
The only number that appears in the white paper is that there were 15 mutations needed to find a 48–scalar-multiplication algorithm for 4×4×4 matrix multiplication.

It's sad that Google DeepMind didn't provide any concrete numbers about AlphaEvolve. For instance, for the problems that were solved: what was the population count, what was the total number of tokens used, how many specimens were evaluated? 🧵

It may be seen in different way too: user may be more willing to attribute consciousness (and perhaps other attributes such as free will), if it perceives the chatbot as slightly mischievous, high agency, etc.

Google has shown that genetic algorithms coupled with LLM-based mutation and crossover can devise solutions surpassing those of most skilled and motivated humans. With distributed power of millions of host devices, it may turn out to be difficult to stop.

Witold Wnuk @witoldwnuk.bsky.social · 25/05/2025
There are no particular limits to self-mutation—it only needs to work. Methods don't matter—talking to people, searching for newest exploits, swapping LLMs—the proof is in the pudding.

That's your secret alter ego, admit it! You've been hoarding crypto for years. 👍🏻 BTW, if you're appealing anything, don't mention you want to close the account. Do one step at a time. First establish control over the account, then close it. You may have to wait before closing.

What Yann LeCun and his kind fail to understand is that society at large has absolute and undeniable power and right to stop them from doing what they are doing without even giving a reason.

Furthermore the price for non-thinking DeepSeek (V3) is currently discounted to $0.14/$0.28 - much lower than R1 and comparable to non-thinking Gemini prices that you quote.
