happy #wagonwednesday here’s my roadmonster while i was camping in kentucky last weekend

a buick roadmaster estate wagon, white with woodgrain trim. it’s got all-terrain tires on black steel wheels. an awning is deployed off the side and a camp table and chair are under the awning. it’s parked at a campsite in the red river gorge in eastern kentucky

I’d go for a second Sonic. High mileage examples can be found for cheap, Trax struts are a straight swap for about 2” of lift, and there’s plenty of aftermarket support from ZZP.

I am a disabled enby in their mid 30s living with my spouse and roommate, both of whom have had trouble obtaining employment since being terminated in November. My spouse started working again yesterday, but we are currently a month and a half behind on rent since I have not been able to cover it with my SSDI checks.

I tried applying for emergency rental assistance from the state, but they’re directly funded by the treasury and Trump has yet to release the hold on federal funds, despite a judge’s demand to do so.

We just got a notice from our property management company that we need to pay the full past-due amount (of $2500) by 02/20/2025 or they will start eviction proceedings.

I’m quickly running out of options.

Taking my Brompton on the trip to Arizona was worth it, even though I’m a bit disappointed the H&H Q rack didn’t quite stand the abuse of the baggage handlers. I’ll probably be able to fix it, but I shouldn’t need to.
