I’m rereading The Fifth Sacred Thing by @starhawk-spiral.bsky.social. @sonia-elena.bsky.social is facilitating a book group on it this summer.

Photo shows my hand holding a book over my legs, with a stream in the background. The book is The Fifth Sacred Thing by Starhawk - “BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF THE SPIRAL DANCE AND DREAMING THE DARK”

The cover is illustrated and depicts a woman standing high on a hill, holding a walking stick and looking out over a green valley while the sun sets or rises in a beautiful display of red, orange, and peach.

A fabulous opening of the fiber arts show at Arts Center East in Vernon, CT yesterday! I have these two pieces in - Antique Moon and Cicada New Moon. The whole show is incredible an it is up till 3/29. You should go see it.

The artist, Rachel Sclare, stands beside her piece Antique Moon. The piece is a large circular weaving with assorted cream colors of highly textured fabrics many of which are antique tablecloths. The artist has dark purple curly hair, black cats eye glasses, a black mask over nose and mouth; she is dressed predominantly in black, with a black, silver, and gold vertical striped button down shirt, and is using a turquoise colored cane.

The artist, Rachel Sclare, stands beside her piece Cicada New Moon. The piece is a an arch shape woven with highly textured art yarn in many shades of blue, teal, turquoise, and green swirling around a black and dark purple moon. The artist has dark purple curly hair, black cats eye glasses - her eyes are comically wide as she made a silly face for the picture, a black mask over nose and mouth; she is dressed predominantly in black, with a black, silver, and gold vertical striped button down shirt.

After I called my Senators to tell them to vote No on the Laken Riley Act (so should you), I baked delicious chocolate cookies sprinkled with Maldon salt.

Double Vanilla Basque Cheesecake

A freshly out of the oven Basque cheesecake - it has risen above and parchment paper lining the springform pan; the top is beautifully brown - as a Basque cheesecake should be.

Photos of my newest baby, for @darthbluesky.bsky.social- Darth! I’ve missed you so much. It’s Miareeva 💜 This is my little baby, Star. I found her on the street in dire need of medical help. Brought her to a rescue where they took care of her (her tail needed amputating). Then I adopted her.

A beautiful white car with olive colored eyes barely any tail, on a red couch.

The full moon rising over the Long Island Sound, from the Connecticut side. The water is rather calm, with small ripples. A stone wharf extend from right to left. The moon is reflected in the water.

A circular woven wall hanging with an offset smaller circle within that is not woven. There is long fringe hanging from the bottom. The weaving is in turquoise blues, with hints of fuchsia pale pinks and purples. The weaving hangs on a grey, weathered, old fence.

The winter sun setting behind an old mill waterfall.
