I went to the vagina museum for the first time last December. It was great! I tend to think I'm fairly educated on the female anatomy and then I learned I had always called uterine tubes ovaries. This place is great and important and it needs cash to exist. Throw in a penny if you can.

Hey, this reminded me of you, @ewangibbs.bsky.social, and that reminded me that I used to follow you on twitter! Anyway, I read this line and thought, you never know. Probably not exactly your thing but it's in your general sphere of interest, I think.

The trouble is, we have very little evidence on what happened. We know that male employment rates crashed in the 1980s, as I wrote about here. But no-one was collecting good data on the extent of light work in the 1970s.

Highlighted by me: (As an aside: I’ve been thinking of doing a historical project on this for at least a decade - I don’t know if it’s viable, but let me know if you’d be interested in exploring it).

Actually, I went to a different shop to check the colours, and found that 100 is not available for this brand and type of wool (it goes up to 70), but 3 is off-white and 27 is a pretty nice blue. Good choices!

I want to share with all of you the history of the various names the Butthole Surfers used to operate under

The band did not begin as Butthole Surfers, although they did have a song of that title, possibly an early version of 1984's "Butthole Surfer". This changed at their first paid concert, when an announcer forgot what the band was called and used the song title for the group's name. They decided to keep the moniker, and have largely been billed as such ever since. Prior to that, Butthole Surfers performed under a different name at every live show. Early aliases included The Dick Clark Five, Nine cm Worm Makes Own Food, The Vodka Family Winstons, Ashtray Babyheads, Ed Asner Is Gay, Fred Astaire's Asshole, The Right to Eat Fred Astaire's Asshole, The Inalienable Right to Eat Fred Astaire's Asshole, Zipgun, and many others.

Sometimes the coolest events are in your own home town. Yesterday my mate organised Church Rockin' Organ, a concert where a band plays a bunch of seventies hits and all the Hammond bits are played on the big ass church organ It's so fucking dramatic and I love it
