My cousin just called to tell me how much my uncle loved May and I and having us around for the holidays. So yeah, complicated, but it was nice to have somewhere to go around that time of the year 💜

My uncle passed away yesterday. He was a complicated guy. Conservative, gun-toting, businessman. But he made sure that there was always space at Christmas for May and I and that we felt welcome. He may have not gotten the pronouns right all the time, but it was nice to have someone want us around.
