I know too much about canine population genetics, child development and art. Breathing in the beauty of the world, breathing out the terror.

Mom-of-six tip. Try to agree with her “no” as often as you can. She’s just trying out autonomy and it’s like a new toy. They get less fixated on it when it sometimes works!

I’d consider relocating to Illinois just because of you. You are a good guy and a great example. Thanks for sharing your journey with honesty. If you can be honest about this I trust you can be honest about government.

And what, pray tell, are these people getting for this alleged fraud? If you have health insurance you don’t use, you get nothing at all. So wouldn’t the issue then be companies?

Aww. A bunch of guys from my U-Hall joined PKA. Greg. Mike. Warren. Super sweet guys. I can see them doing the right thing. I joined DG, which was great. But we saw a lot of the Fiji stuff. There were places you did not stay too late.

Same thing happened in ‘86 or ‘87. They shut down Fiji because some *visiting girls from Brown* were attacked and told. I was in a sorority where we already knew that was happening in that house. We didn’t think we could do much except protect ourselves by not going there.

Yeah the Kavanaugh allegations were 100% believable if you knew that culture. Now the Epstein class.

Not weird. There were definitely those guys. Apparently their sons are at Cornell now. It’s a huge school and there are thousands of awesome people there. But that crowd? Really bad. And so smug.

That has to feel so great!

This has been the dark underbelly of Cornell fraternity culture since I was there 40 years ago. Back then, it was incumbent on women not to get themselves into those situations and not talk about it if it did. It’s never been ok.

Boy, it would really ruin your general stance if in facts it made life lots easier for the non-rich and NYC were as well loved by all the people who make it run as those who enjoy its most elite benefits.

Ha. Doing her job. Which is apparently shoving the press away from Trump. Who, may I ask, is the sick freak?

Skip Gates once gave my paper a B instead of an A because I split two infinitives.

Buffalo is and always has been a true border city. We actually can see Canada from where we live, and we love Canadians, because what’s not to love??? 🦬 🫎💕

5. If God is all-powerful, all-good and all-knowing, why is there evil? Grew up in a religion where the answer was “there isn’t. It’s all in your head, kid.” My answer? I can’t believe in a God who would be insecure if I have doubts in their existence.

4. What is the basis of morality? Pro-social and anti-social. Good for the tribe or not. Varies with environment, basic survival strategy.
010
Natalie @wiselike.bsky.social · 01/09/2026
3. What are numbers? Both pattern recognition and a cool way of agreeing on shared concepts, both of which fit into humans primal need for a tribe and became awfully practical in cooperation and communication.
020
Natalie @wiselike.bsky.social · 01/09/2026
2. If humans are merely physical objects then are all our actions predictable by scientists laws? Maybe one day, but nature is very good at chaos that humans try to put in some fathomable order, because pattern recognition is one of our survival skills. We’ll keep at it anyway.

1. How do I know others don’t see green when I see red? Unnecessary because we can agree, but art is a fight against existential loneliness. Cave paintings: Do you see what I see? Then I am not alone. We are instinctively tribal because we are naked, fangless, and clawless.

Was just thinking about the parallels of women’s fury on both sides of the law in this story. (Watching the series.) it all makes so much sense.

People are falling for the DSA vs Establishment trap again. Didn’t we learn our lesson in 2016 and 2024? It’s the establishment’s job to build a coalition that can win EVERYWHERE. In some places, that means ultra-progressive. In others, it means establishment. The tent is big enough for all of us.

Trump is a thief. His administration is built on thievery. Shame, Americans. Profound shame. Too many of us either like it or we don’t care.

Please just ignore that stupid, stupid man. I’m so sorry some Americans voted for him. We all love you guys.

She’s what we white women call a crazy white chick. And for some reason THEY think she is an exploitable weakness or they’d ignore it.

I was making a joke. :) However, good government takes care of people via public service infrastructure and helps them thrive. I don’t care what the label is.

Well that’s brilliant. Now those parents can spend money in local businesses going to dinner, seeing a movie, doing a little shopping and help the local economy! How capitalist of you!

Oh such a surprise. They truly cannot imagine how little Trump cares about anyone but himself. He’d say anything for power — and he did.

It drives me crazy. Jesus Christ, if he was a real guy, was a mensch. His reported words are simple and essentially pro-social. Love each other. Take care of the children, feed the hungry, heal the sick. Faith without works is empty. Lots of non-Christians do more of that than Christians.
010
Natalie @wiselike.bsky.social · 18/08/2026
So how is this kind of thing anti-capitalism?! Government exists to take care of infrastructure so we can succeed if we work hard.

Don’t turn on the sound. Just watch Trump’s face. Does this man look sane? Or alert? Why do we put up with it?

The US has been dominant largely due to our vast natural resources and the size and variation of the land. Combine that with “rugged individualism”, lawlessness, capitalism as an excuse for exploitation, expected results of having crazy, resilient, ambitious immigrants, and you have the US today.

I am in no way minimizing your loss by saying there are other dogs who need someone as lovable as you to love. When you are ready, they will be waiting for you. They really are the most amazing beings.

Why does anyone listen to that Piker guy??? Mehdi, in his subtle British journalist way, is clearly showcasing how out of touch Piker is. I love AOC. The US is not ready yet for her as a presidential candidate. Wish it were.

That’s media doing its job. Palantir and its ilk are very sneaky and have no scruples. Also, sadly, far left candidates do often go unelected. We can’t afford naïveté from either centrists or progressives. We can’t afford infighting either. No whining.

Of course Musk says that. He lives and breathes South African apartheid. He believes whites are superior and western culture is inherently better, not different. He also owes his fortune to people who think like him. Be more skeptical, mainstream media.

Small bit of info. My French grandmother immigrated in 1946. Very chic. Worldly. Destitute after the war. She made friends with the handsome wealthy gay men on Fire Island and was their beard for important society galas and had a blast! Had photos taken by Richard Avedon.

Those folks tend to view all issues as class problems rather than race problems and they are so mistaken. The Obamas are, on paper, genuine elites. They are hated for their color, not their class, or their competence. El-Sayed too. But we all know the name still hurts him.

Natalie @wiselike.bsky.social · 15/07/2026
And what, you your opinion is the re-telling? Black Dems seem to like Stevens better, but they tend to be more practical centrists because they do not trust white people to vote for radical leftists. It’s really a “who will be most likely to get elected so fewer of us die” and they have a point.

Natalie @wiselike.bsky.social · 14/07/2026
Seriously, if we lose seats because some people think that there aren’t too many independents who WILL NOT VOTE for a far left candidate, especially one with a name like those Americans have been taught to hate, just because it shouldn’t be this way, I will lose what’s left of my damned mind.

Reporters have to tell them all to f*ck right off. Pay attention to their moral compasses. I’m sure it’s complicated - but in the end, it’s really not. Do the right thing.

The thing is, rapists know they raped. To then try something like running for office knowing you raped is both the height of hubris and a subconscious wish to be caught. See ya. Wouldn’t wanna be ya.
