iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

One of the side effects from my Dad's celebration of life this past weekend is that I'm exhausted. It has made me severely grumpy and no patience for bullshittery.

I have sent an email to the CRTC asking for clarification. This CASL officer would like to know why political parties and candidates get a special exception to spam citizens.✌️

Business of the Year? Or getting them to follow your social media? Or subscribe to their newsletter? Why are political messages exempt while non-profits and charities are not?? Surely charities should be allowed to send awareness emails? But nope, not exempt.

I've been corrected in that solicitations for your vote and this inquiries to public opinion are now permitted. 😶 This has been updated since I last checked. You can still report if they solicit donations. This is absurd to me, because what is stopping from businesses for soliciting your vote for

things like Business of the Year? Or to follow their social media? Or to subscribe to their newsletter? Slippery slope there CASL.

The government can fine them for doing it. We still get some (usually some parking scam) but not too many.

Pill day is the WORST. I even got myself a super cute rainbow pill holder to try and make it more fun. But nope. Still the worst.

I flew to a con on Friday and they pulled aside both my bags to inspect them… 😅

It’s odd to me people from prairie towns making fun of other prairie towns. “Pfft who goes to CITY? There’s nothing to do in CITY.” Please don’t say that bullsht unless you’ve actually been there. And also… they are saying the same thing about your town.

The Edmonton Expo Centre has taken away the Ukrainian food option since I was here last. I am sad. I was so looking forward to it!!!

We should post signs (at least at the washrooms!) at TCTC that say no pervert glasses.

Aaaarrrrrg. My dumb fingers. KIND* human being.

Oh yes indeed. Alberta likes to brag about their low taxes, and yet…

Missing you, Pop. ❤️‍🩹

Alberta: your gas prices are the same as Metro Vancouver (we notoriously have the highest gas prices due to our fuel taxes). Make that make sense.

I’m on an airplane! There is a big smile under this mask.

Andrea sits in a window seat on an airplane, wearing an n95 mask, smiling with her eyes.

Andrea is at an airport. Andrea is the weirdo who likes airports. (Dear Canada, please DO NOT privatize our airports. Have you SEEN how awful the US airports are? Ours are much better.)

Andrea takes a selfie smiling with a wall of windows over looking the tarmac behind her.

Small joy of the day: I’m glad that my penmanship has mostly returned. Last summer you could barely read what I was writing thanks to the parathesia in my hand (still there, but learning to work around it)

A page in a notebook, with the header written by hand that show’s today’s date.

When shipping costs as much or more than the product itself, you know something isn’t right. 😬

Thank you. It’s more not wanting to be a burden on them when they already do so much. ❤️‍🩹
