Ace Combat is a very strange series because it’s as Woke as it can be while also paying licensing fees to the actual Military Industrial Complex

Shockingly boring movie, like genuinely were I not a Wuthering Heights fangirl I'd have stopped watching it at the 30 minute mark. Not even really worth MST3K'ding with friends tbh, because there's so little going on in this movie.

God the Char/Quess dynamic has so much sauce Tomino was a Lion when he made audiences question if the franchise’s most popular character was actively a pedophile, leading a child on to groom her into the military, or if he’s just so broken he doesn’t even realize how he comes off to everyone else

Girl who thinks Witch From Mercury was a net negative for the fandom because its main pairing is too explicit and healthy, so new fans aren’t ready to dissect the source material to understand what the writers were trying to say

Haruhi Suzumiya, may you not rest as long as I am living. You said I forgot you—find me then. I believe—I know that Aliens, Time Travelers, and Espers have wandered the earth. Be with me always—take any form—drive me mad. Only do not leave me in this melancholy, where I cannot find you!

I’ve never even considered describing Haruhi as Japanese Wuthering Heights and I don’t know how I feel about that being a not entirely unreasonable comparison

A photo of Aya Nishitani’s tweet after being asked his thoughts on the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and Sword Art Online: “The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya was the most complete first-person light novel when it was released. The story structure, where a plain protagonist talks about a flashy woman, is similar to the British classic Wuthering Heights. As for SAO, I think it is one of the best-written novels among light novels.”

Not to be too Tomino-pilled but it's a real shame that societal mores on intimacy mean we don't get to see more depictions of sex in mainstream games. I think knowing how people are during intimacy can be a really interesting piece of characterization!

Many people think Pathos and Aura are incompatible, but this is simply not so The truly wise know not only can a moment can become even more hype when you know a character’s driving force, but also that all the depth in the world can be squandered by a character who refuses to do what must be done
