I am glad to have contributed an essay here on subversive speech acts. It's open access and addresses important new conversations in Empire criticism and NT. Check it out!

Anyone know the best libraries in Rome for biblical and theological resources in English?

I'm also excited to share that I will be contributing a volume in the New Testament after Supersessionism Series (Cascade), tentatively called Reading James after Supersessionism: A Letter to Diaspora Synagogues. This project will be fun!

In case you're interested, I have an essay coming out on how speech theory can help to evaluate whether the New Testament was critical of the Roman Empire in an edited volume by @christophheilig.bsky.social on Methodologies of NT Empire Criticism. Also includes a great list of contributors.

Thanks! @ryanheinsch.bsky.social and I are both interested in looking into it for summer 2026. He's an Aberdeen alum, I have a UK PhD but not from a Scottish school.

@ryancollman.bsky.social & @smehorn.bsky.social is there an easy way for US scholars to get temporary library access to Edinburgh New College over the summer for research?
