I guess my dad had this book by Jamie Moyer & Larry Platt in his collection and it is reportedly signed by Moyer (weird they don't have a picture of the signature). www.k-bid.com/auction/55192/item/165 More auction items (auction ends Wed):...

Cory brought up Joe. I’ve been slacking and not really listening for Joe mentions lately. (Good to have Justin back in the booth though!)

Not only is this place a Nazi bar, more than half the time search doesn’t seem to work anymore. (Best to move elsewhere.) Clearly, I’ve never before mentioned my wedding to @KevinGAustin or the anniversary of that time we got married at the Metrodome. (19 years ago today.)

What BlueSky looks like . . . That's the default webpage; there are also apps. And ways of viewing on the web that are much like Tweetdeck (deck.blue is one). GIFs and video and DMs are now available there, by the way (things it lacked initially).

Joining BlueSky is as simple as joining this place was (if not easier). My screenshots show what it is like if you want a preview. Go to bsky.app in a web browser & select "Sign up" to get started.

Also in my brother’s leftover stuff. No cards inside the folder though. Maybe he took those.

The Twins Fest ‘91 program or whatever you want to call it. I wondered whose autograph my brother might’ve received and then chuckled when I saw it. Not very exciting.

When my brother was in town, he went through a couple of boxes of his stuff that was in my parents’ storage unit. Today I got to see what he left behind and gosh, how could he leave this behind? (More in next post.) 🧵

WTF was that? I forgot José Berríos was pitching for the Blue Jays and since we bailed while the Blue Jays were still batting in the first I never even saw him. Welp. Uh, happy for him, I guess? (We watched DS9 S03E11-E12 because it is Bell Riots weekend.)

Why get a boring Stanley c/u/p/ mug when you could get a Swig mug with a cool pattern like maybe this one? amzn.to/3XiuUYk (They also have lots of other stuff in this "Home Run" pattern: amzn.to/3Mm1jXA )

Has anyone talked here about how former NBA star Mike Miller is the subject of one of the murals on the Corn Palace this year? (He’s from Mitchell, South Dakota.) I find this amazing. cornpalace.com/150/Corn-Palace-Mura… You can gaze upon the Corn Palace live...

You know, I don't think I ever posted anything negative about Carlos Santana joining the Twins, but I did not expect him to play stellar defense, wear the highest of socks (LOL), steal bases, and just generally be super fun to watch. Dingers? Yeah, I figured those might happen.

Gonna have to update my list of harsh criticism against him to include “was assistant coach not head coach” but I’m not gonna acknowledge the folks who think he’s been intentionally misleading people on that score because that’s nonsense.

If you or someone you know is considering voting for the other guy, you should know Laura L—mer of all people & other Republicans are rooting for him. Gross. For more on the race, I like Naomi Kritzer’s write-up: naomikritzer.com/2024/07/22/electio…

Took my other account private (not that I’m over there much these days anyway) and reported and blocked an account (after telling them to “fuck off” which is extreme for me). Probably plenty to report about that account and their posts if you’re so inclined. Too many like this.

These Looney Tunes baseball cards are so cool (and cheap right now). www.k-bid.com/auction/54650/item/96 www.k-bid.com/auction/54650/item/94 Just 3 and a half hours or so to go on these auctions I've been carrying on about. <3

I forgot to include a picture. Hey buddy. There are some other Jordan things in the auction along with some basketball cards. (And then there are the baseball cards, football cards, hockey cards, racing cards, movie cards, TV show cards . . . )

Never really know what Twins (or other MLB) merch you might find on macys.com. Worth a look from time to time! I did not expect a TWINS David Ortiz Cooperstown Collection Mesh Batting Practice jersey, for instance.

Really surprised the NASCAR and other racing stuff in this auction is not getting bids at all (or not many). Starting bid of $5 & no reserve on all of the sports cards (which are mostly unopened boxes or boxes of wax packs of trading cards). www.k-bid.com/auction/54650

I thought it was cool that “Roundball Rock” would be played during coverage of basketball at the Olympics & also that it would return when the NBA returns to NBC. That was before Kevin started singing along every time it plays. He says (of course), “It’s a lyrics first song!”

I should not see bidding on this auction as “sports stuff versus non sports stuff” but I can’t help it when I search on high bids and see these things next to each other. www.k-bid.com/auction/54650 (Auction ends August 6th; bidding usually gets wild on the last day.)

Maybe the unfortunate likeness of Joe on the HOF plaque was based off of this horrifying graphic (that the Twins eventually replaced in most places).

Nice of catcher Ryan Jeffers to hit a dinger that didn’t go too far past the fence. @Twins continuing to knock it out of the park with their tributes to Joe Mauer. (Twitter search is not finding my old pinned tweet but I have a screenshot . . .)

How many different Twins player (& associates) heads do you have on a stick? I finally have Joe on a stick, but if I recall correctly somewhere around here we also have Max, Plouffe, Gardy, & T.C. Bear.

Also in that auction, must sought after 1982 Twins baseball & 1988 Twins mugs. (Uh. Most of my folks’ Twins stuff was already sold or I kept things.) There are also some cool 1991 ALCS & World Series mugs & some nifty glasses.
