Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Tragedy today as local woman figures out that the reason her toad pumpkin doesn’t look quite right is that she put his eyes facing forward instead of the side of his head. 🤦♀️ 100
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 02/10/2026September was a month of (mostly) short reads for me. Shout out to middle grade fiction, which in addition to often having the best cover art also have the best Halloween stories. My favorite of the month though was probably The Rise and Fall of the Dinosaurs by Steve Brusatte. 030
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 26/09/2026At my local convention waiting for a live reading of an adaptation of Call of Cthulhu to begin, and one of the performers passed out “comfort fidget octopi because it’s a scary story.” Which I’m sure is actually to keep us off our phones, and given how much I’m playing with it its very effective. 020
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Stage one of the Angler Fish-o-lantern complete, now working on stage two. 120
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 07/09/2026August books! Favorite of the month month was The Ghost Map by Steven Johnson. 020
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 09/08/2026July books. Favorite was either Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury but as usual I liked everything. 040
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 07/07/2026June was a good month for my reading (bad for everything else). I really liked everything but my favorite of the month was What You Are Looking For Is In The Library by Michiko Aoyama, which may have made me tear up a little when I found chapters 1 and 5 were both about me. 010
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 06/06/2026May’s books. Favorite of the month was Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames. Fun variety this time around. 010
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 29/05/2026I know I’m old because I’ve heard of exactly one of these people. 120
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 02/05/2026April book stack. It was a small month in terms of book and page count because I got sucked back into Stardew Valley. Favorite was The Kaiju Preservation Society by John Scalzi, but as usual I liked everything. Shoutout to the artwork in Witch Hat Atelier, I love the moment to the clothes and hair. 020
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 05/04/2026March books. No theme this month. I think my favorites were The Ballad of Perilous Graves by Alex Jennings and the Monk and Robot duology (collected together in one book) by Becky Chambers, but I liked everything. I’ve been slow to start April because I’ve fallen back into Stardew Valley. 😅 130
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 28/03/2026YES, BLUESKY. I only ever write in English. I only know English. STOP ASKING ME IF I’M WRITING IN ENGLISH. 000
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 26/03/2026Well fuck. It would really really suck to have to pass up the event in my city, but I don’t know that I can swing that. Yikes. No seat in the Maverik Center is worth $1500. 010
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 21/03/2026Its not super big. I have been in this arena for a number of gymnastics (like today) events and a couple Stars On Ice shows, and every time it’s been a million degrees in here, just fyi. ⛸️ 140
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 21/03/2026For those planning on US Figure Skating Nationals, here’s proximity of 2 hotels to the Maverick Center, and just beyond those are 3 more. The arena is also a stop on the city’s train system. These are the convenient things about the Maverick Center, but the list unfortunately stops there lol. ⛸️ 350
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 16/03/2026Twenty years in this house without raccoons, and now I’m at war with them over my bird feeders. 021
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 02/03/2026February book stack had a bit of a romance theme, and once again it’s hard to pick a favorite. I find I more or less like everything finish, (if I don’t, I don’t finish). I think I’m going with Assistant to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer, with honorable mentions to pretty much everything else. 020
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 01/03/2026Spring has sprung in Utah, with nary a winter to be had. (As a winter person this is a bummer. As a person who has to live here in the summer this is terrifying.) 030
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 25/02/2026My day included an almost perfectly round onion ring and I want the world to know. 0121
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 21/02/2026By the way, this was on Threads earlier. The Liu-fluence has begun. 2163
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 11/02/2026The locals over on threads are learning! Keep spreading the news, maybe we won’t ever have to see them again after this season. 143
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 10/02/2026This is how I’m trying to tweet. I’m just a head rest for her. 130
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 05/02/2026Admittedly I’m super nit-picky about the quality of my books, but if you’re going to sell something as “Good” condition there should be FAR less water damage and cover warping. 😤 (packaging was pristine, so did not happen in transit) 040
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 03/02/2026January books read (plus one digital not pictured). Starting the year with a heavy trend toward mystery. I think my favorite was All of Us Murderers by KJ Charles, and maybe Midwinter Murder by Agatha Christie, but I enjoyed everything. One book into February so far. 020
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 28/01/2026I’T HAPPENING! IT’S HAPPENING! IT’S (not going to last because it will be back up to 50F by Saturday) HAPPENING! 020
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 10/01/2026Can I follow Canadian Nationals, watch US Nationals, and be at the Sprouts Collegiate Quad gymnastics meet all at the same time? Probably not but we’ll see how this all goes. 050
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 01/01/2026After being a voracious reader up to that point, I pretty much stopped reading after college. I don’t really know why. But this year I picked it back up again (video games got so expensive, streaming services were full of ads. I needed another escape) and had a pretty decent year! 040
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 31/12/2025December book stack (minus one that was digital and not pictured, and I only read A Christmas Carol in A Christmas Carol and Other Holiday Treasures, not the other treasures). Favorites were Dickens’ A Christmas Carol and Juniper’s Christmas by Eoin Colfer. 020
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 12/12/2025My hands were fully off the controller at this point. Hard to do stealth missions a rescue hostages or dodge attacks when the left trigger button won’t stop firing if its own accord. 😑 010
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 11/12/2025It’s going to be really embarrassing when the Winter Olympics return to Utah only to find that there is no winter in Utah anymore. It was 62 degrees when I got to work. I’ve been in short sleeves. 130
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 05/12/2025November books (plus one not pictured because it was digital)! I think my favorite of the month was Greenglass House by Kate Milford, but a number of these I rated pretty similarly. Thanks to my brother for holding the stack up for the picture. 020
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 30/11/2025FINALLY It took until the last day of November, but Utah FINALLY got snow. 060
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 28/11/2025Now (re)playing: Or at least for as long as my PS4 holds out. It’s making some very tired noises. 000
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 24/11/2025This is the number of singles skaters on the GP who used these choreographers, not whether or not they choreographed one or both programs. There were also three skaters who listed themselves, and one who used another current skater as a choreographer. Interesting to me that there are so many Benoit- 150
Sarah @wintryday.bsky.social · 15/11/2025Update: Cat bed complete! Kind of a pain to assemble. Excuse the lack of vacuuming, she loves cardboard scratchers and gets bits everywhere and at some point you just give up. 230
