i was similarly convinced that it could have said "more" up until i brought up the film to one of my friends who falls into conspiracism really quick and she had many OPINIONS about how the film made her uncomfortable based only only the plot synopsis, hearing "it makes chris hansen look like a bad guy" and seeing Chris's reaction to the film, but not having actually seen the film herself. It really made it click how potent american propaganda is when it convinces someone that they're the good guy and their enemy is ontologically evil and how quickly it terminates any thoughts about whether what theyre doing is actually right or good or even effective even like 20 years after the show ended, particularly in parallel with the b-roll of the concurrent trial of saddam running alongside it
