I have been slowly getting through Adorno and Horkheimer's Dialectic of Enlightenment

“So long as the identity of the user of reason is disregarded, the affinity of reason is as much to force as the mediation; according to the individual or group situation, it permits peace or war, tolerance or repression. Since it exposes substantial goals as the power of nature over mind, as the erosion of its self-legislation, reason is—by virtue, too, of its very formality—at the service of any natural interest. Thinking becomes an organic medium pure and simple, and reverts to nature. But for the rulers, men become material, just as nature as a whole is material for society.”

Dialectic Of Enlightenment

I can't get over using an NCBI Blast page as part of the album art. Impeccable.

Finished my contemptor after like 5 years. This weekend I finally strapped in and started painting lightning bolts on all my heresy stuff. Also really proud of the script on the parchment!

Setting up my little home office/writing area. It definitely needs more Warhammer stuff but I don’t have any of the cool prints…

Desk with a pin board against the wall, and bookshelves to the right. There are trading cards, album inserts, and a Steely Dan Quote pinned to the board (amongst other things).

My husband got me the Oracle kit for my birthday (along with the Supplice kit, but I haven’t assembled it yet).

You can exchange the track titles from The Richest Man in Babylon and the Ultrakill: Infinite Hyperdeath album without too much of a difference.

I’m kind of always in this mode, but I’m in a real 2000s fancy restaurant lounge music zone.

My husband and I started playing WoW again a few weeks ago, and it made me want to post some of my favorite transmog/item sets!

A night elf mage from World of Warcraft wearing a red, black, and purple armor set with a glowing red staff. They are standing in a purple and white forest.

A night elf mage standing in the Exodar in front of some crystals. She is wearing a purple/pink armor set with blue glowy effects.

A night elf mage standing on green grass, with a cloudy sky with purple aurorae in the background. She is wearing a black outfit with white trim.

I am going through some of the anime I've seen recently to try it out. Here is one from Land of the Lustrous (apologies to those who know this scene, it's just really pretty...)

The character designs are so cute, too! I love Float in 3 and Fark in all of them.

An image of Float from Spark 3. She has purple skin, pink eyeliner, pink-dyed tips on shoulder-length purple hair, and a pink beanie.

An illustration of Fark, a yellow robot with a red and blue jester hat (and white gloves and a red bandana, like Sonic)

Looking through Metroid Prime 2 concept art again.

Two concept images of dark Samus, one where she is black and white and kind of shiny, and one where she appears to be made of bubbles with a red visor.

A watercolor that is mainly black on a white background depicting what appears to be a melting face.

What appears to be various promo pieces for the game, with light blue backgrounds, lots of y2k-style text and computer interface styling over faded images of Samus from behind.

A black and white image of Samus being grabbed by tentacles while holding her arm cannon up and charging a beam.

Some nice kindness in the comments.

Comments on the youtube video linked, where someone says "I feel so alone watching this in 2024" and there are a bunch of responses of people saying they are here too.
