I actually don't get too much of a "pushing the ship" vibe from it, it lowkey is giving this vibe lol

It very reminiscent of the too early/too late thing going on in the original lol. Their relationship in the novel (especially the jp version) is just too precious aarghgrhrgh

Sha turned to Sharia Bull. Since the two of them were finally alone, he told him what he had learned from Krishia of Gren's plot.
"Holy cow, sir," Sharia said after hearing Sha's description. "What will these politicians think of next?"
"I don't know, but Gren's gone too far this time. He's an intellectual anachronism."
"It's not a new problem, sir. He's just following his own flawed ideology."
"T hink so?"
"I know so. He's an idealist in a twisted way and thinks he's laying the foundation for a new age. The unfortunate thing is that he believes it can only be accomplished by power, by dominating all mankind. What he doesn't realize is that there's another way. He's just stuck in an old mode of thinking. He's part of an old problem. Two thousand years of human history prove it.".
"Why are there people like him?"
"Because individual humans are too isolated, too busy thinking about themselves to see the big picture. It's their karma."
"Same with us, right?"
"Right. It's a big problem. But I think we're on the right track. If I really believed something I was doing would help create a better world for future generations, frankly, I'd be ready to die for it. Wouldn't you?"
"Whoa, Lieutenant! Hold on a second! Don't be in such a hurry to vaporize yourself. Think of the people you'd leave behind."
"No parents, Commander. No wife. No girlfriend. No children. I don't have much keeping

me here. But I need something to believe in, and right now I'm ready to follow you. The most important thing for us now is to time our escape right so we aren't annihilated by Gren. And we need to contact the Gundam before it's too late and either destroy it or enlist it as an ally."
"There you go. We've got to watch out for the Gundam. The thing's turned into an over- efficient killing machine. We've both got to stay alive."
"Hmph. Amuro Rey's the pilot, right? I think you once called him 'single-minded' or 'straightforward,' right? Frankly, sir, I'm a little envious of him."
"Sometimes it's not a good idea to be too single-minded. Lieutenant."
"No, sir, I agree," Sharia said. "We're too complicated ourselves, Commander Sha... er or should I say Caspar Daikun?"
The men shook hands and climbed into the cockpits of their respective machines. Thirty minutes later the 300th Autonomous, Sha's New Type unit composed of one Braw Bro, four Rik Doms, and five Zaks, launched from the stem of Abowaku and soared toward the combat
zone.

Ohhh- I think Cameron has to have known Char and Challia during the OYW just because of the comment that he made about the sodon. It definitely implies a degree of familiarity, not to mention he was the guy in charge of putting the seals on the ships back then too. Side 6 flashback when???

I really want to know what this guy's deal is, since he has his own character entry in the pamphlets. His name is chaichi, allegedly. I hope he turns out to steal kidneys from the people they interrogate or something :)

010 1

Worm @wingbus.bsky.social · 23/04/2025

It would be funny if Cameron remembered him as the sulky older guy inseperable from the horrible little red creature that casually threatened his existence

Cameron and char in the original mobile suit gundam talking. Cameron says "I hope you leave soon. I don't want you to come here ever again" and char basically tells him to watch what he says, and that side 6 has only survived so far because of zeon

161 6

Worm @wingbus.bsky.social · 23/04/2025

I wonder when they last met? The way Cameron seemed surprised/barely recognized challia could imply that he knew him during his sad wet dog hours of the OYW, which could in turn imply that he witnessed Char/challia in action, thus the "Are you still in the thrall of the red comet" comment...

They both are very manipulative and have absolutely rancid vibes, both would probably eat a child, both are lacking in the eyebrows department, both create an indescribable sense of discomfort... idk I think he'd make a great live action ghiren. (Spoilers) Here is the biggest first impression/complaint I had with the first episode of Gquuuuuux; (I definitely enjoyed it despite the flaws, however. I like the dub so far too; watching it helped offset the fact that I've seen it all already, which improved my opinion after that first watch.)

I got to say, I'm a liiiittle disappointed. That felt way too much like a recap of a first episode that we have yet to see than an actual episode. Maybe its because I was really hoping for new scenes throughout to flesh out the movie version (which I thought was a great intro but ultimately a slideshow of important scenes), but I hope the next episodes emphasize spending more time with the characters and letting them breathe 😅

Not challia yelling "Zeon go home!" In an anti zeon rally and saying "you'll protect me, right?" to komori 😭 I don't know if I'm just looking I'm the wrong places, but I haven't seen any scans of this anywhere.

From the 2nd week Gquuuuuux bonus(?) Google translated text: The streets are filled with demonstrators, shouting out loud, and the military and police Zaku cars marching intimidatingly ahead of the police cordon and government building.
Sneaking through the crowd of demonstrators, Sharia and Komori are lightly disguised.
Sharia walks briskly, but Komori follows her with confusion.
Komori (without even trying to hide her voice) "Well, I said it was just a quick meal, but if you come all the way here, isn't that like an undercover operation? Totally." (Almost bumping into her)
"I'm sure you'll protect me, right?"
Sharia
"You're my bodyguard, aren't you?"
Sharia (suddenly makes a loudspeaker pose): "Zeon should come back!"
Komori is annoying.
Komori (see Sodong)
"Anchoring low
Looking at it like this, it's oppressive and scary. I guess that's why there's such a fuss."
