also I'm so sorry but I must do this. this isn't spoilers since we all know the DT credits drop this patch, and with the credits come new key art for characters. I won't show said art, at least. but anyway. [points and zero and erenville's new art] BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BAR

🤔dabbling with BST on dareus (since it doesn't feel like it'd be nihyo'li's thing/he can't have all the fun + he's already maxed out on BLU), and!! hm!! i can see the appeal, even if it's a little grindy. i'm not unhinged enough to try to get to max level in one day, so i'll take my time with it

I'M ALSO EYEING (PUN NOT INTENDED) ALL THESE NEW NPCS WITH VIBRANT EYES THROUGH THE WHOLE EXPANSION... I WANT IT TOO!!! GIVE IT TO ME NOW, I want my guys to have pretty eyes too 🥺 oh the updated character customization can't come soon enough if that's part of it

trading one convoluted way of sharing screenshots with another... anyway 5'11" vs 6'0"

A screenshot from the game Final Fantasy 14 showing 2 Viera (Rabbit Person) characters. The one on the right is clearly taller.

tries to figure out the logistics of a voidsent potentially becoming a sin eater/a lightwarden while my funny little guy is suffering from light corruption in real time... ultimately dareus is not a wol but it's fun to think about. i'd imagine the light would ultimately snuff out the darkness, tho

MAN... talking to the exarch as a not-miqo'te is actually hilarious 😭 he's so short... dareus isn't even that tall compared to other characters (he's like 5'7" iirc) but the exarch is still so eeny compared to him... manlet of a leader (affectionate)

squats over here bc i'm sure nobody on my main wants to see me ramble about this /jkjk but like. auto-pathing+walking is. not. a disability aid in the context of an mmo, and especially not ffxiv, i'm sorry. my friend pointed out the biggest flaw nicely, and that's the fact that trials/raids exist

The ew role quest (healer) touched upon the question on why one would turn against their people and I recommend anyone to play it tbh. Colonization wins if it manages to create a divide in the people they colonize, bc it weakens the ppl it tries to break. Healing and mending those bonds is fitting.

poikos got their clear in the end, all is right with the world 😤 i can't wait to see how the next ultimate race goes, this one was super fun

010

sleepless scholar @windupnihyoli.bsky.social · 07/06/2026

okay, the prog difference between first place and everyone else on p5 is so fucking funny. what spirit of battle possessed poikos for them to get THAT far in so quickly. deadass I went to bed last night and nobody was past like 80 percent hp 😭

broke: lol what if kefka was beaten on 6/7 or 6/9 woke: what if the raid group dn (whose name may literally mean "deez nuts." idk for sure, but if it is 👀) gets the kill

010

sleepless scholar @windupnihyoli.bsky.social · 06/06/2026

okay so the only clown I've been following is kefka these last few days/I am not going to pretend I have a horse in the race irt the more negative things that have been cropping up against certain people this week but what do you MEAN the fragments guy only played ARR??

260

sleepless scholar @windupnihyoli.bsky.social · 05/06/2026

you know as fun as seeing the prog for the fight has been/seeing how much the fight design fucks with the players, the kefka thirstposting has also genuinely been a highlight I love watching people say the most unhinged shit about that mad clown, I have been cackling for days 😂

120

sleepless scholar @windupnihyoli.bsky.social · 04/06/2026

(slight dmu/umad phase 3 spoiler) i think if there's a nearly full party wipe and someone tries to jump off the stage to reset the fight, kefka should grab them out of the air and shake them around like a ragdoll before dunking them off the stage himself. bc it would be funny

stares into the distance, about to make an absurdly self indulgent choice (<- person who is already very self indulgent about shit relating to this game + my wol) nihyo voice... qifrey wha dub voice... if the dub didn't go out of the way to do non-american accents i wouldn't have considered it tbh

okay, quick verdict after doing an quick run of holminster switch (I'd have done more but I have plans today): yeah!! awkwardness is definitely because of the d-pad not being parallel to the other face buttons. I'll mess around with both controllers more to get a better feel for things

120

sleepless scholar @windupnihyoli.bsky.social · 17/05/2026

man... it was not my intention to be on the game as long as i was today. but at least i'm mostly satisfied with how things are looking as far as the ui is concerned, smhh. it's also been nice seeing my little dudes the way they're actually supposed to look 🥺 higher quality son boys
