It's difficult to describe the style of a good chunk of demoscene module songs at the time. While some are straight-up DnB/techno, others resemble synthpop songs but also not TOO similar. By these modules, I mean MOD, XM, IT format. #chiptune #demoscene #dtm

This is solidly made, especially for a one-week game jam submission. Creative turn-based mechanics that affect your decision, but also the progression felt smooth, and you got lots of tower varieties that I actually found fun and diverse.

I really don't want to be around people that make violent threats or death wishes. Even if some people do horrible things, me stooping down low to dangerous levels will just make me miserable - it's triggering. I don't want to normalize that.

I do miss the times where even professional sample libraries were simply wav files (and basic envelope data), that way we wouldn't have to deal with finicky DRMs or the weight or efficiency of VSTs. Even though VSTs themselves have some benefits like effects.

Update: I figured out a solution! Bake in the crossfade between the loop points using OpenMPT. That helped a lot.

It's difficult to find the kind of ambient music I want. A lot of the music I find by simply searching "ambient music" are too simplistic. I loved the Frutiger Aero stuff, since the music sounds more involved. If I could find good ambient sound design without the FA label, though? #ambient #music
