At long last there is a drinking water fountain in Wimbledon Park. After years of campaigning, a successful petition and a promise to install in 2024, the new water fountain was installed on the back of the lakeside water sports centre this week. We were hoping for 3, so will keep asking !

1/2 George Eliot moved into Holly Lodge, Wimbledon Park Road, Wandsworth in Feb 1859 after publication of first novel Adam Bede and it was here she finished Mill on the Floss. She had intended to stay at this address for a long time but soon found the house was overlooked “by houses full of eyes.”
