I made a few samples of my new “Knitting” print before deciding to make some changes and re-burn the screen. It was a pain to reclaim the screen, but it’ll be worth it in the end. I handprint and sew each tote. This one is made for small knitting projects. #knitting #screenprint #textiledesign

Love her work! Very interesting compositions and textures. It’s something that you have to look at for a while and sit with.

Give this a share if you can - the prompt this week is your #favouritepiece Some great work has been shared already! If you search the tag #printpromptmonday you can have a look 🩷 #printmaking #art #artshare #illustration #woodcut #linocut #intaglio #screenprinting #etching

The graphic for this weeks print prompt Monday! It shows three relief print motifs - a rabbit with a long medieval trumpet, a lady doing yoga and a weird bird. From the trumpet the words “print prompt monday” are emanating. In the top left it states that this weeks prompt is “favourite piece”
The graphic has an off white background and the details are in a bright red and muted teal.

#printpromptmonday #foliage 2 red oak screen prints. The 1st was an actual leaf that my mom found and gave to me. The 2nd was inspired by random shapes. #printsky #blueskyartshow #womensart #printmaking #printmaker #screenprint #inspiredbynature #texiles #homedecor #oaktree #leaves #woodland #leaf

#printpromptmonday #inprocess Though it looks simple, this is one of my hardest prints to pull. Rainbow is 6 colors on 3 screens, which create 11 colors. #blueskyartshow #contemporaryart #womensart #printmaking #printmaker #art #serigraphs #screenprint #screenprinter #silkscreen #handprint #texiles

A white cotton tea towel screenprinted with 6 transparent, and bright, overlapping colors, which appear to be brush strokes, creating a rainbow of colors.

Thank you John! I was pleased with it in the end. I mocked up the colors in Illustrator and I was worried that it would look flat but the transparent ink and screen printing process helped a lot.

Willywaw @willywaw.com · 10/03/2025

Thank you, Jenie! It was fun to print and I used my transparent textile inks.

It’s beautiful. Lovely composition.

I ❤️ it! It’s nice to see my art work in a grid and I’m happy to be rebuilding in such a welcoming place. Bye, bye IG.

I use these for cards in our shop and they look really nice. It’s nice to see the whole image and will be perfect for your books. Hope you have a good time at Hepworth and Printfest!

Ok, I see, that would definitely help. If the plate goes slightly past the roller, it drops really fast. I’ll look into it, see if I can order some. Thank you!

Would those be metal, welded onto the bottom of the plate? Or removable wood? I’ll see if I can find some photos of what you’re talking about. It’s more likely an operator error problem! 😁

For it’s size, the bed is very heavy and I have to be careful that it doesn’t roll off. It’s guillotined my fingers more than a few times. I taped some wooden blocks at the ends to remind myself not to turn the wheel too far and stop the bed from shooting off.

I love coming home from my studio, aka The Icebox, which is very chilly in winter, and curling up on the couch with my dog nearby and an iPencil in hand. Normally, I like to draw at my desk with a real pencil. #sketching #natureinspired #womensartbluesky #floraandfauna #woodland #art willywaw.com

Ditto. I didn’t realize what a closed box IG and FB had become, even though I felt it. It feels great to be connecting with people again.

Beautiful and mesmerizing. I love the colors and graphic shape of the cell. 😍

Got it! Thank you! That makes sense.

Me too. I’ve been on for a few weeks and I’m surprised and amazed at the new connections I’ve made. It seemed like IG was keeping me in a box. With the lid shut 😁. Freedom feels good!

Social media as it should be. Find your community among millions of users, unleash your creativity, and have some fun again.

Question - if I want Flashes to be separate from Bsky, to keep the feed all photo, should I make a new account, correct? If I want the Flash handle to be similar to my bsky handle, are people using a distinguishing Flash abbreviation? Like @willywaw_ _ _ bsky.social?

Also, I’m very happy with the print quality but I haven’t worked on many presses and I’m still getting to know it.

I’m not an expert by any means, but the press is solid and well built. The company very responsive. I was nervous about having it sent all the way from South Africa, but was packed well and arrived safely. It did take some time to arrive as expected, within a month, I think. The wheel is precious.

Thank you so much! That is very kind. 😘

Thank you 😊 I’m mostly a textile screen printer and enjoy experimenting with lino block and other printing methods.

Welcome! I think you’ll like it here. Everyone is so talented and supportive. ❤️
